The guy is called Michael Romeo, if anyone wants to know. He's the guitarist for a band called Symphony X.

Very good guitarist! There are a number of good ones like Luca Turelli from Rhapsody and Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom, but a hilarious guy is Rusty Cooley, who as far as I know isn't in a band cos as soon as they would ask him to solo over anything it would dissolve into a shredfest so fast you can't even pick out a note and would last for 10 minutes :D
