View Full Version : This is not a joke, it's depraved and disgusting

BBC says 'In theory he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.'
Let's hope so.
What is it about these perverts that makes them interested in this sort of stuff. And yet it happens all the time. If anyone laid a finger on my daughter, I swear I'd swing for them.

This bloke has been done before and was a known pedo, he should have been castrated at the last trial. As I live nearby have been following this case with a vested interest( have two children through my daughter is 17 on sunday so too old for this barstid) This is a case of life in nick and let the lags sort him out.

Ed I get the point, but I seriously don't think it would stop there.
Any guy upsets my lil girl & I'll prolly swing for them, a pedo is a whole different thing!
Time to start petitioning the govt to use old militray bases as prisons again IMO...
I cant imagine how disgusting it must be for the coppers to have to go through all the evidence to prove how sick these type are.
It is a huge worry as a parent and if you allowed yourself you could end up never letting your kids play out etc. It is a fine balance between protecting your children but then also letting them play out, climb trees and generally learn independance and about themselves.
I hope this man is never allowed to walk the streets again.... but I fear this will not be the case. :(

If anyone looks more like a criminal than him, I've yet to see a photo of them!
Yes I have to agree... he is typical looking of how you would stereotype this kind of man. But unfortunately they are not all so easy to spot! Bet the police were jumping with joy to get this one.

This sort of crime, along with rape, makes me sick to my stomach. I dont have a younger bro/sis or a child of my own to worry over, but i worry about other young kids i know. I cant imagine what it must be like ot find out your kid is being....you know.
People who commit these disgusting crimes should be castrated with no anastheic by the familes they have hurt, and have salt rubbed into the wound.
The interenet provides acces to all sorts of stuff, good (science, sv650.org) and bad.
Urgh.
Matt
[EDIT] yea, it must be very distressing to be the copper dealing with this sort of thing. I know i couldnt handle it.

I remember reading an interview once with a convicted paedophile... It was actually incredibly sad. The guy basically only had any sexual attraction for pre-pubescent girls. Made me think, imagine what it'd be like going through life with that? You don't get to decide your sexual tastes, and some poor sods get landed with that. And he knew it was wrong as well, that would be a killer.
I reckon some of them, it's not like that. it's more about power, and fear, and being in control, and abuse of innocence, and that's very different.
Doesn't excuse it, in the slightest- but I did feel sorry for him. But at the end of the day, what else can we do but lock him up? I don't think it's ever going to be about rehabilitiation- you can't "cure" it, any more than you can cure homosexuality, it's just the way he's wired. But you can't sacrifice kids' safety.

Interesting attitude.
Until you are actually in that position you don't know what you will really do. Your instinct is not to protect your family. It is anger at yourself for failing to protect them and you lash out. It is an uncontrollable rage. Only when it subsides do you realise what a stupid mistake you are making. Yes. I have been there.

Been there also. My daughters grandfather (not my dad) is now where he should be. I'd of still liked the chance to 'talk' to him before he was arrested.
Please don't assume opinions are formed from anything other than experience.
Edit: Protection? From grandparents? Not usually what you'd think about.

I agree. But it never ceases to amaze me to hear people say paedophiles should be rehabilitatd and released back into society. Of course when I ask if they'd be all right with a 'rehabilitated' paedophile moving in next door to them if they had young children I get alot of evasive answers. It's all right for other kids to have to live next to them but not their own!

'zackly. If they can be rehabilitated- I'm sure some probably can- then that's one thing, but some people can't be "fixed". Is prison the answer? Only because we don't have anything better, probably.

Hang, Draw, quarter - let the crows eat thier remains.
They are scum.
Maybe Northwind has a point about them being wired wrong, so lets remove the defect from the gene pool.
There's a huge difference between "rehabilitated" and "cured". The latter can never happen with a paedo any more than it can with an alcoholic or a drug addict. Once a paedo, always a paedo.
People can be "rehabilitated" from things like drug addiction, alcoholism, etc and be accepted back into "normal society" (whatever that is) but a paedo will never be accepted no matter how well they have been rehabilitated and no matter how low the risk of them ever offending again.
Drug addicts and alcoholics do not get sent to prison because of their addiction (unless their addiction causes them to commit a crime). This is not the case with paedos; paedophilia is a crime in itself.
Assuming that a paedo is fully and completely rehabilitated and is no longer a threat to society, is it right that they should they be incarcerated for the rest of their lives? In my view, probably not. But that doesn't mean I want 'em living anywhere near me.
What are we, as a society, to do? Big question for which I have no answer.

Yep - my thoughts too. Whether a truely 'rehabilitated paedo' is an actual danger can be argued, but who really would take the risk? And yes, they aren't cured ever - rehab means they control their urges, the urges are still there.
With this guy in particular, he probably doesn't think his crime is as serious as someone who goes out and abuses children and its not until he appreciates the affects and torment people like him put children through can he ever be thought of starting to rehabilitate. But I can see why people think 'why bother' and maybe they should just lock them up forever

I like others on here dont have younger siblings or kids of my own but can only imagine how i would feel and react if someone like this preyed on a child i knew.
I think that the scandinavioan model surround this type of crime is the best ive heard of. Their attitude is simply that anyone who commits a sex crime against kids or rapes women has something seriously wronng psychological and prison is not he place for them. A secure mental unit, however, is.
That way they get specific treatments and are constantly assesed for release if its suitable and if its not they are detained as being metaly unfit to be in society and kept there for life.
