Just a quick question for you guys.
I am due to take my test in the next two weeks and I have been told that every thursday night that a load of bikers meet at The Hunters Lodge Pub near Wincanton in somerset. I Was wondering if any of you pop down to the meet and I was also wondering if anyone knew how long it continues through the year.
Cheers.

Sweet.
Have you been on any of the ride outs. Is there like a meeting place or how does it work?

I've been on plenty...

Normally somebody will do a recce of a route and then post it up with a route plan and a meeting point and a start time. Just turn up at the meet point and then follow everybody round. I've done a few either down into Devon / Exmoor or towards the coast around Bridport, West Bay, Weymouth that kind of area. Theres been a few rideouts into Wales as well. Its quite informal if you like the sound of where the rideout is planned just turn up. I've not been on a bad rideout yet.

Whats the pace like.
Being new to bigger bikes I dont want to kill myself just trying to keep up

Pace is reasonable not stupid mad fast but not slow either. I've always made it pretty clear that its not a race and the best way to have fun is to ride at your own speed. I tend to stick to anywhere between 60 - 80mph on A roads but I tend to keep to the speed limit through villages etc.

I do ride alot faster when I'm by myself but I try to moderate my speed on a rideout.

Don't worry about being able to keep up. We're a pretty good bunch we'll wait for you and somebody always marks the way at junctions etc on an organised rideout so you don't need to worry about getting lost.

Oh, I really don't want to join your Mere/Popham clique, just interested in a bike meet for friends in that area.
