Hi I'm new to SV650 org - (and reasonably new to biking for that matter)
I live in Fleet with boyf - we're always looking for fellow bikers to play with.

How often does the Guildford Massive meet?

Hi & welcome
So what SV have you got?
Lately socially has been every week, the Anchor as above and randomly on a Wednesday in between.
There should be a ride this weekend - not organised yet.

Where is the Anchor?

Is that the Thundercat? - there were a couple on the Annual rideout.
It would be good to see a couple of new faces at the weekend, if we ever agree on Saturday or Sunday.

Aye Strechies bike is a Thundercat. Saucy_Hp's bike is a Triumph though, Completely different, remember the bike Rictus was on at the Annual Rideout ? one of them I think is what he rides.

Good choice of bike..............okay put the gun down now I said it!

Yep I'd say we meet every week. Thursday at the Anchor and then the next Wednesday at the Ely on the A30 by Blackbushe (not far from Fleet at all). Come along and say hi. :D

Is a Thundercat not a Triumph then?
Had a quick look on MCN bike reviews and saw it was Yamaha .
I wasn't brought up on bikes - Cars I probably know every one - but Bikes I'm still learning.

Whoose was the other Thundercat - you know the one in good condition?

I've had my licence since 99 - had a bike for a couple of years at Uni - binned it and have only recently got back on (still quite nervous).

James got his licence a few months back and we've probably clocked up about 1000 miles since then. - So still got lots to learn!!

Always up for meeting new people and would love to join the ride on the weekend -Maybe we could meet you all at the start - say hi at the odd junction on the way - and catch you again at the finish?

The more the merrier. Does anyone know the guy in the Esso station on Reading road as he also has a rather nice black SV.

HP. If you and BF want to get some miles and confidence in I can thoroughly recommend the TVAM IAM (www.tvam.org ) course. I can bore you sensless about it on Saturday if you make it along.

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting the last paragraph right. Are you both worried about riding in a group and riding the route by yourselves? We're not all fast riders and I'm sure you'll be able to follow someone (maybe me depending on how fast I feel on the day) at the back who will keep a eye out for you two. We don't bite. :)

Mark_h

HP, see my previous thread ( sedate ride) I have been assured they do not bite. Even if they do I'll be nice to you as I really need some riding contacts in Fleet as I'm a bit fed up going out by myself all the time :(

I stick to 30s, 40s and 50s (most of the time) then enjoy myslef in NSLs depending on what is about. The route I have planned has quite a bit of 50s at the start then a good blast of NSL then some more 40s. A few places to stop over and regroup too.

Still need to find out if the cafe at Alton is open on a Saturday as that makes a prime regroup point and they do a fab bacon butty.

Sounds like some good experience there :D Dont worry were not like that, come along and enjoy. If you feel a bit anxious you can always head towards the back of the group.

Number one thing I remember is to give yourself space, space is your safety as SidSquid would say (or something like that). Also if your not happy with one persons riding or a group just say, at the end of the day were constantly learning how to ride best on our bikes.
