I went to Mallory park on a 'No Limits' trackday yesterday. I'm too cheap to buy the pictures, but here are the thumbnails:

the pictures are on the photographer's website for free anyway - I could have linked to them, but his webserver appears to be on the end of a dsl line - they have a watermark in them in any case. it was £30 for a CD but frankly I didn't think they were that great, he didn't get a single picture of me in the first session, I've had cd's from some of the other trackday companies this summer & they're a lot better
anyway...
I thought Mallory was great, I think it suits the SV really well as there's only one proper straight for the ss600/1000s's to pull out much advantage. I went in the inter's group & took great deligth in going round the outside of gixxer's in gerrards, outbraking them into the hairpin, etc. :-D
I was impressed it No Limits too, I got an instructor for one session & he was excellent, I would strongly advise getting one of you can - they're free so you may as well use them. you can learn the lines & if nothign else they'll drag you through the corners so you can see how much quicker you can go than you thought

Cheers. Hopefully i'll kick my brothers ass in the turns but i was just worried he'll pull too much of an advantage on the straight.

Must agree, the pics aren't that great (lots of the same too) but you look like you were having fun. I like Mallory, I did the Suzuki Performance School there and loved it.
Haven't done a track day this year (in fact, I've done very little on the bike in the last 8 months  )but would like to have a go at Mallory. Definately suited to smaller bikes, I think the BSB boys are only 1 sec or so faster than the BSS bikes for lap times.

There’s not a lot between BSB and BSS at most tracks really, but yeah Mallory isn’t a HP track :)
Not done it on the SV yet, but a great non HP track is Rockingham, it’s much more exciting than Mallory too … you get to use both sides of the tyre equally, which is less wasteful 8)
Anyone up for a bit of ‘The Rock’ sometime soon?? reckon it'd be ace for the SVs 8)

the guy on the black HM Plant cbr is the instructor I had in the second session; the girl on the ktm I chased round for a while & then lapped :-D

good question .. did you book for that Silverstone date? was it 11/10? it seems to have disappeared from the website. maybe 3/10 at silverstone GP? didn't lukemillar say he was going to that? I quite fancy silverstone again. it's down to £105 too :-)

I was lapping in ~1:08, minitwin lap record is ~1:03 ( http://www.minitwins.co.uk/records.html ). there was a guy who went out in the lunchbreak who was apparently a BSB privateer & I timed him round in ~55s, scarily fast (sounded great though) !!

Reckon I could do it in 1:02 on my SV … just kidding  1:08 is a good time if the SV lap record is 1:03. That is MRO, the BEMSEE one is 1:04.56 so, 1:08 looks even sharper :) Especially if that is Dynapro (more mods allowed) and not normal SVs?

Yep! Though I'm a little upset the longer you leave it the cheaper it gets! Doesn't work like that with Easyjet

Just booked into inters myself too, so we can b 2gevva :)
So is it just the 3 of us so far?

Done the rock on the SV. First trackday so not really sure how it compares but it's a tight circuit, no real long straights anywhere. The SV does well though. Very light. Still can't compare to the more compact R6's etc but still nice. Lapped a few people on my first day!

There is a chap coming from my work and possibly a female SV's K4 owner!

If you get your confidence up and move to inters then i can take some vid of you :) have you done anything about your ground clearance problem??!? Some ‘jack up’ plates or rearsets might be in order?
... a female SV's K4 owner!
Is she 'fit'??
£105? Wow!
Pretty reasonable that for such an brill track :) Do it … u know u want, no NEED to!! :)

Sort of - I have some slightly shorter dogbones but I need to widen the holes by 0.1mm before they'll fit - Not sure if I can get it done by next tuesday. Anyway as for ground clearances, that's easy - Go faster + hang off more
To be honest, I don't care which group I'm in. Lydden was fun, but I did make a conscious decison to hold back from going as fast as possible, with the view of practicing lines and cornering technique (on Sid Squids good advice!) Confidence is much higher this time, with me wanting to work on braking zones and quicker turn-in's. Will just have to see how quick everyone else is I guess, but again i'll be looking at my own technique rather than lapping as many as possible (maybe when I get to your standard )

You'll have to see for yourself, but I think she is single! Anyway, she is still only a maybe.

she is only maybe female? I doubt she's too fit then ;-)

Not sure going faster will help the ground clearance?!?! But getting off the bike as you started to after you grounded out will help wonders :)

Not sure going faster will help the ground clearance?!?!
Everytime I grounded the pegs last time, I'd let my speed drop too much through the corner (though it was only the first session). This caused me to lean over much further than I needed to, tightening my line and grinding the pegs. So a combination of carrying more speed through a corner and hanging off more should save my pegs, no?
I don't know why I'm telling you this - you know it anyway!

Ahh … I see you are hoping the centrifugal force will help prevent the bike from dropping in too far??? I can see the logic there, not sure if you are above walking pace it matters mind!?!? Taking the hero blobs off might give you a degree or two too?!?! :)
Are the footrests any different on the pointy and curvy??? I have some ‘jackup’ plates on my spare footrests you are welcome to borrow for the day if they would fit?!?! :)

Thanks Nick. I'm hoping I'll be okay. Looking at the footage and some of the stills I can hang off more. My knee was only just skimming along the ground last time, so I know I can hang further. Last time I was getting used to the technique - now I feel quite comfortable with it, I'm hoping it won't be a problem!
I'm bringing tools anyway, so if worst come to the worst, I can take you up on your offer - Thanks! (if they'll fit that is)
