I've been seeing other bikers behind your backs :) The work bike club, or 4 of them at least, are up for the weekend- funnily enough, including Jenni from on here- so I took them on an "SV Ecosse greatest hits"- they were staying at Leven so stirling-balloch-wibbly wobbly-arrochar-inverarie-connel bridge-ballachulich-glencoe-tyndrum-lochearnhead-duke's pass, then back to stirling where we scattered.
Great day... Crazy mix of bikes too. 3 SVs- 2 proper ones and a pointy one- a rather nice R6, GSXR750 K2, and a Katana 1100! Great seeing that beast being hustled down some of those roads, though i thought he was going to die to be fair. Then we picked up an ER6F and an F800ST at Lochearnhead- SV wannabies :)
It was really good... Weather was excellent, no incidents (well, Andy on the pointy SV had himself a moment on the Pass but he was fine, and I got us lost trying to find the wibbly wobbly.) and we found a good balance for the pace.
The people say, first bit of Wibbly Wobbly brilliant, second bit not brilliant. Though I loved it. I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky- not so much a danger to road users, more a danger to shipping. Loads of fun. Glad I didn't do it in the rain that time, wouldn't have enjoyed that. The Pass just about crippled everyone, we ended up spread out over miles with me, R6 guy and the other SV making a pretty good clip. Don;t think it was to everyone's taste, most of them seemed happier with the really fast roads. Some nice new tarmac down I noticed (bit slippy actually) and no more gravel than usual. So, thanks folks, never would have known about those 2 without this site.
Quite glad I rearranged for tonight, I'm a wreck now :) Those guys don't believe in rest stops!
