Hi guys,

The holiday was pretty good, so thanks for that. Abby had a great time (as I did) hovercrafting & quading, although the hover was a firm favourite.

All this in spite of what I'm about to tell you.....

....I'm very sorry to say that whilst on holiday, a very dear & longstanding friend of mine (and to be mother-in-law), Abbys mum, died. She had put up a very brave and long battle against a very rare cancer, and as you may have gathered from previous posts, we have had a difficult last four months with her in hospital. After the initial diagnosis, (we have both just heard) she was given five years. Happily enough - that was some TEN years ago. She stayed active and enjoyed almost every day of those ten years with her family and friends, and managed a once-in-a-lifetime holiday only last year. Her wit and good nature never faded even close to the end.

Everyone is coping rather well under the circumstances for the moment. I can also asure you that your good wishes and support is all very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Garry

:grouphug: To you both and espcially to Abs. My great mother in law also lost the fight with cancer last october so I've some idea what you are going through.

Take care of each other, so far the loss hasn't gotten any easier but you start to remember all the good times and memories rather than the ilness as time goes by.

Having said that I'm taking Hazel away on holiday next month as she does not want to be here on the anniversary.

Deepest sympathy to you both.

Really sorry to hear the news. Please pass on my condolences.

It doesn't feel that way now, and probably won't for a few years yet, but time does heal the wounds eventually.

My sister and I realised with some surprise and disbelief last week that it will be 9 years in February since our Father died. Its unbelievable how quickly that time will pass!

I'm so sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with you.

I've had a similar year. Lost my wee brother few months ago  and my sister was diagnosed with Hodgekins but has pulled through well.
