I'm probably going to need a scanner for my Mac soon. I was looking at this one: http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Scanners/Flatbed/canonscan_lide60/. It's £49 from the Apple Store (£59 most other places). No idea how good it is though.

The Epson 3490 is £115 on Amazon, so the Argos price looks like a bargain.
