View Full Version : Stacked it...
Well it finally happened - wiped out my spanking new (1200 miles) Sv on a roundabout by some chap who decided he wanted to go right at the last moment
Luckily for me all I have is a wrapped up left hand and lots of bruises, but my pride and joy (bike - ahem) is decidely worse for wear - wrecked the fairing, new lowers, brake pedal, bars and offside headlight - hopefully the fully comp should ease the pain but we shall see. Lucky I reinsured the old CB250 :)
BTW the old HG leathers held up a treat, even though they make me look like the white dino Power Ranger! All I have is a hole in the velcro on the left knee - best £300 ever spent, and my Arai lived to fight another day :)
Let's hope that's the last time I slide on my **** across a busy roundabout, stopping six inches from a keep left sign, saying "s**t s**t s**t owwww"
:( sounds nasty, good to see your not too badly hurt though :(

Didn't you read Kinvig's post then?! He specifically asked for no more offs this weekend! :? Go there and apologise at once!
Glad you're ok, though! :)
On ****. Bad luck :( If it was the other driver's fault, why do you need to claim on your insurance?
Glad you're (relatively) OK - could have been a lot lot worse.
Cheers all :)
Ed - Might be tricky 'cos I was filtering up to entrance of roundabout on single lane in slow traffic. This was onto double lane as you exit roundabout. As I entered roundabout this fella was on my left, going straight ahead without indicators. I then went past him on right hand side with intention of taking right hand exit lane - as I got parallel with his bike he decided he needed to go right and take the second exit and cut across my path, indicating as he did so.
Result = heavy braking followed by lots of bad noises and pain
It's all a bit of a bitch, but we'll see how it goes :) Lots of "Technically it was..." issues, and DAMN my left hand hurts to type :P
As they say - to Assume (makes an ass out of you and me)
Ah well, could have been far worse

it's not too much fun stopping 6 inches the other side of a roadsign

I seem to remember that you were several feet down the road, on top of the road side.
Jeez. Glad you're okay to fight another day.
Did you exchange details etc? Call Rider Support to take over the legal aspect of your claim?
....and didn't you read my thread earlier? ;o)
happy to hear you're ok, hope you get the bike sorted. I'm happy for you that you were wearing you're leathers too. I've not been riding long, and only have the leathers as riding gear. I guess it would be foolish to go out on the bike without them.
get well soon dude.

Sorry to hear about your accident.
The same thing happened to me two years ago. Woman chin wagging with another woman in left lane, me in right exiting onto duel carrige way and she decides to take the next exit at the last minute - no indicator and didn't look in her mirror - just screamed when I hit her car! lol Luckily I had a witness stop and after 6 months of insurance companies battling it out I won - but only due to the witness and the fact the woman that caused the accident admitted liability to the police at the scene and then changed her mind when she told the insuranc ecompany! Bad move on her part! Police write everything down!
Hope everything turns out ok in the end - as long as you not hurt too bad the bike can be fixed or replaced!
Thanks all for the concern, it's much appreciated :)
As for the bike she's still sat in my garage looking poorly - will let you know how it turns out. First estimates are about 2k worth of damage (from a mechanic member of family), what with aftermarket fairings and all... Let's see what Bennetts say!
Beginning to wish I kept my old curvy instead of selling it to my other half - could have repaired it for £25 off eBay!

Sorry for your trouble mate. Hope you get some joy with other drivers insurance.
Now if you'd been wearing one of those high vis. jackets they've been on about in these parts......... (runs for cover)

Tell people you got your knee down and forgot to put sliders on!
Glad you okay.
