I was watching the BSB and me and Jax where thinking as she would love it. Who else thinks it would be cool to have a pillion race series?

Hmm, dunno, reckon Ducati would probably have an unfair advantage with Randy Mamola on the 2-seat Desmosedici!!

Could be interesting though, the pillions could get bonus points for certain things, scored on bravery...

E.g. 10 points for a knee-down

also you have to weigh up advatages of better grip with a heavier pillion over top aceleration of a lighter one.
also would you want a faired bike or would something like a sv1000n or gsx1400 be better.

Thought about this for a while. On the Sv I personally think having a pillion makes it feel less wallowy in the corners, but you do need to take them slightly (read. a lot) slower.

Would be fun. Do trackdays let you ride with a pillion?

I think not but you can at the nurburgring. Bit of a trek tho.

nurburgring yes that is a bit of a journey, though a pillion track day would be cool.
the SV was great with Jax on the back. that's how I got my 9 points, from 99.7 and 97.5 mph...

Yes...if you do them in South Africa with some of the local organisers.

Wee bit off topic, but when I was a kid I was gutted when I found out that a "caravan rally" wasn't off-road rally stages with a caravan on the back. That would be cool.

Pillions would be cool if they were allowed to slap other bikes. Oh hang on, thats how Karl Harris took Lavilla out this afternoon, no pillion needed.....

Well there's already sidecar racing!

Agreed on the caravan rally - didn't live up to expectations as a nipper!

When i went to Cape Town 2 years ago we had a nose at the local race track they were running a track day and had sessions where you could take a pillion.
Leathers were not compulsory and people even went out with trainers on not boots
Thought they were mad.
