hello

Tried to search for some good threads on a buying guide as such for a pointy SVs

I kinda know the usual, (pitted forks/engine, noisey cam etc) but is there anything else I should look for? How easy is it to tell if a bike had a thrashing or wheelie'd to death?! I'm kinda mechically minded as such, (more cars) but kinda lacking knowing anyone at all who knows/rides bikes to come with me and look! :(

I'd rather buy private, as dealers seem to overprice some curveys way over newer pointys!

Also I've got my test in 2 weeks, but was hoping to get a SV before, what are the downsides to not been able to test ride a bike before you buy?

Thanks

Just look out for the silver ones... they're the fastest!

Where are you based?

I'm sure some kind sole will come along to see the bikes with you. Usual currency is normally handed over by an Irish fella.

Myself, no idea, which explains why I bought a K6.

Based in Huddersfield, just off the M62.

silvers ones are ok, but the silver K3 doesnt look the best... too much silver.... my opinion of course!

Huddersfield you say? I went to college in Huddersfield (Greenhead).

Give me a few days & I'll ask around, see if anyone I know is free. Grecian9 is based in Leeds too, and so may be able to offer advice or someone else that can. Drop him a PM.

I'm also way overdue a ride out that way. Things are up in the air atm about me going to the NEC, but if I am, looks like I'm detouring past Sheffield on the way back, so could extend more to hit West Yorks & Leeds/Huddersfield.

*wanders off to look at maps*
