what is kicking off?
As i write, there are a dozen police cars/vans at the end of my road, plus a helicopter overhead, and we're prevented from walking up there (I need to go that way to fetch isaac). But they won't tell me what's going on. Why not?
Probably because they think you are being nosey :lol:

It's 9/11 btw. I would have thought that date would have been ingrained into everyone's minds.

thanks for the insight guys. If only i'd realised when we were at the airport the other week that being a bit brown is not good right now! :shock:

Seriously, sounds gun related to me.
Well it was happening on our doorstep and impeded me going about my business, so I kinda needed to know if my son was at risk.
Anyway, they've all gone now, and we'll probably never know what was going on. don't much care either, as long as everyone's OK.
Now, about that hole....

Thats good news - Id have really panicked in that situation - I panic if I hear a distant siren and my son is out (he's nearly 18 - mother's instinct I spose :roll: :)
Id also have been livid that they wouldnt let me past/tell me what was going down :x anyway glad all ok now :D
There I was, a-digging this hole
A hole in the ground, so big and sort of round it was
There was I, digging it deep
It was flat at at the bottom and the sides were steep
When along, comes this bloke in a bowler which he lifted and scratched his head
Well we looked down the hole, poor demented soul and he said

The shape of it's wrong, it's much much too long

Nearly bashed him right in the bowler
Well there was I, stood in me hole
Shovelling earth for all I was worth

So grand and official with his nose in the air
So I gave him a look sort of sideways and I leaned on my shvel and sighed
Well I lit me a fag and having took a drag I replied
I just couldnít bear, to dig it elsewhere
