All vote now...
Simple really, for me anyway, scratching the lanes the red K5 pointy works well for me. Having said that I've not ridden a curvy in anger.
Could do with some finer criteria eg handling, cost of ownership, smiles per mile :)
Looks wise I'd say the pointy in my opinion. Although not had the pleasure of riding a curvy

Not again...
Even if I'm a pointy owner, I have to say that the curvy looks much better -for me anyway. Especially the frame. Havent ridden the curvy, so can't comment on carbs vs EFI etc.

I vote Hornet!
I'll get my coat.........
I love the looks of the curvy, though I'd like the engine / handling characteristics (from what I've been told) of the pointy (Is there a way to put the point suspendion / engine in a curvy and get the est of both worlds?)

Both Suspension are naff... better off replacing it with a GSX or ZX6 shock. Change your fork springs and oil... even heavier oil makes all the difference...
And the engine things been done... speak to mike1234 about it...
Not again...
Awh leave him he is new.

Curvy. Afraid that I still cant get to grips with the looks of the pointy. But hey, I like classic bikes!
I have ridden both models and as far as I am concerned they are as near as dammit the same in their riding characteristics. As far as suspension is concerned, they are both as bad as each other in standard guise. :!:

Curvy, cos i own one and couldnt afford a pointy.
Pointy's dont look good though without fairing lowers!

However, I love a good arguement

I personally ride a curvy.
Looks wise I prefer the faired pointy to the curvy one, however when it comes to the naked bikes, the curvy is much nicer than the naked pointy.
I've never ridden a pointy, but I have sat on one, and the seat is not as comfortable as the curvy, IMO
Curvy all the way. Stick with me on this, if the SV thou had been a curvy design, we might have had to change the name of this forum ;)

<bait>
In some angles, the pointy can look nice. But only with the grab rail removed, solo seat cowl on, tail tidy and belly pan. Without any of that, I think they kind of look guff. The clocks are all wrong, too much free space on the dash makes it look cheap and nasty. They do look good with a double bubble on though. The naked model just looks totally unfinished, I wouldn't buy one if their rrp was halved! Urgh...yuckie!
I've had 3 curvies and like their looks but having said that:
The faired one's are a bit jelly mouldish, only in some angles do the fairing lowers look "right". The rear light is nice but nowhere near as nice and sleek as the pointies.
All in my opinion of course, I can spot flaws in any bike I have owned and am not afraid to slate them. :)

TL1000.org?
NO!
But think about it, they had the chance to recitfy the problems with the TL and trade on it's bad ass image. They wussed out.

I was thinking something along those lines yesterday, I was thinking I'd love to have something curvy with more grunt than the 650, but I'd be scared to climb on a TL1000...
I've looked at getting one, but they were never perfect. It'd be more of a money pit than the most tarted up SV.

Was thinking of one myself a while back but the pitiful tank range put me off. Okay, so the firestorm wasn't that much better for tank range but it could at least get past 100 miles without telling me it wanted more.
You know that everytime we have this "discussion" .. it's very clear that Curvy's win hands down ;)
*and for extra amunition* .. and it just goes without saying that Blue Curvy's are by far the most superior bike around...
*walks away with smug satisfaction for the onslaught to follow*
