View Full Version : Google video
Just found this while browsing the Google video thingy....
Footage at the scene of a bike accident, it really doesn't look good.
Please do not watch if things like this turn your stomach, but it shows what can go wrong. I've just watched it and it really has made me think.
The accompanying text is foreign, but I can make out the word 'fatal'.
Just take it easy out there.......
Mods - please delete if found necessary, just thought it was worth showing......

There's nothing to be gained from watching this video or anything like it, it's akin to rubernecking any other traffic accident. Keep your eyes on the road and keep fear out of your head.

I second that. I havent watched it and wont. There seems to be some natural interest in guts and stuff but personally it just never seemed to appeal to me.
After nearly ending up in the back of an audi A6 last night thats all the adrenaline I want!
Disagree - if by watching the video, somebody decides that they could think a little more about what speed they ride home tonight then there obviously is something to be gained.
Very matter of fact there Razor.

It is a very grim vid which I regret to admit I have seen before. It looks to all intents and purposes that the bike had been going at a fair rate and the car had made a turn across him from the give way area.
It was obviously one hell of an impact.
I am also in the camp of not completely seeing what value this kind of vid brings to any rider. :?
I see enough spills when out riding to not want to be "entertained" by videos.

if that video shows anything, its that fact that us bikers should all try know a bit about what to do if your on scene at an accident. any bit of first aid training goes a long way to help - it could be one of your mates you end up helping.

And you were just in your car, not on the bike, which was holding your shed more-or-less in place ;)
I started watching it then realised what it was. Not nice. I can watch a lot of dodgy stuff but that turned my stomach. I accept the risks of riding a bike and occasionally riding up to (and occasionally beyond) my limits but seeing that makes you think about "What If". I understand why it's been posted but it's a dead guy on film at the end of the day.

If someone rides like a tw*t, this video isn't going to stop them...
What next... Saddam's hanging video as a warning to us all not to become dictators?
Although a lot of you may have seen this before, new members and riders to the forum (like myself) have not, I do feel this video helped wake me up a little bit, so can we give over with comments like:
"If someone rides like a tw*t, this video isn't going to stop them...

They dont help anyone, and well, saddams hanging video has nothing to do with riding bikes does it!
