iv been offered a good package from pipex ,its a 7meg ,unlimited download and unlimited uk phone calls anytime for £30 ,its a good deal methinks but i dont really think i need an unlimited download ,i honestly think one of the lesser packages would do (i.e capped downloads ) for less ,no point in paying for something that i dont get the benifit from .how can i find out how much ive been downloading ?? and does any one have any dealings with changing an isp?im a bit of a dunce reg comps so they have to b a good one .im paying over the odds just now (1/2 meg £30 a month no limits but no phone )but ive had the connection for that long im a bit reluctant to change and end up with a problem connection.im currently with tesco and its time for a change but i dont really know enough to make an opinion/choice ,or alternatives maybe ??any it types on just now? :smt017 :help:

Hi Jim,

It might be easier if you tell us how much one of the capped packages are? Also, what happens when you reach your cap. My dad's connection, for example, just restricts the downlaod speed after the cap is reached... inconvenient, but its workable.

their package limits are 2meg(no good) 15 meg(could be )and unlimited :-k after this is reached i dont know but they prob charge for exceeding your limit :wink:

Their pricing is a little bizarre, but basically you could save £5/month for getting a 15GB limit. Unless you use p2p programs, play online games, download a LOT of game demo's, or trawl youtube for hours on end you wont reach it. Pipex charge around £3 for 3GB if you go over the limit each month.

Just spotted that they want £7.50 for posting you the modem assuming you need one, thats a stitch if ever i saw one, im sure you can get them to post it free if you phone them and say that their competitors will.

i'm paying 19.99 for 2meg unlimited with free phone calls with tiscali, i looked at my download amount for an average month and i rarely exceed 2meg and i'm always on line.
