Here's a Meteor engine in an SD1 :) It's a project car in Practical Performance Cars- most magazines, you get "staff projects" and it's "This month I've fitted new wheels, aren't they lovely". PPC, "This month I put a tank engine into a Rover and MOTed it, then took it to Goodwood Festival of Speed and gatecrashed the hillclimb"

Think you might have a problem getting the gearbox to line up

Wildest one I ever tried was a Mk11 two door Cortina Automatic

Full Lotus race engine,2000e Corsair gearbox[straight cut rally box] and a 3.0 GT Capri back axle. It shook like a bag of bolts below 4000rpm and then went like **** of a shiney shovel

By the time it was finished it had A Frame anti tramp bars mod brakes/suspension complete respray and cost a fortune to insure but it did have a Ministry Certificate

In that one, the gearbox is in the passenger seat from memory... Big old torque converter on the back of the engine to deflect it, since it makes something like 1200 lb/ft of torque at idle :) A mere 2600 bhp if it has the Merlin twin superchargers!
