Morning all! :D

Well like it says on the tin I went for a blast up to and along duke pass on saturday!

Went along with my mate and his GSXR600

Nice bit of road! :D Had the bike in the air a few times  and when braking and changing down gears I locked the back wheel up a bit, which stepped out! oops! haha!

But ws a great run! :D bit wet in places and kept catching these strange 4 wheeled things! douh!! but i suppose thats part of the fun! 8)

Cant wait to do it again!

I've done the DP a good 20/30 times now and if you're locking up the back wheel you're maybe a bit too a keen with your downshifting. Try blipping or slipping the clutch. You shouldn't need anything other than 2nd/3rd round the twisties as theres enough rev range/powerband that you don't need to be up and down the gears.

Last time I was out I lead on the sv with my mate on his cbr6. There's a huge difference in how both bikes cope with it. He was up my **** all the time. We swapped over and I lead again - I literally left the sv in my wake. On the first set of switches up to the visitor centre I was a good 2 to 3 corners in front. I was clutchless changing 2nd/3rd/4th on the honda but it cornered much quicker round the bends. By the time I got to the end I was a good half mile in front of the sv.

BTW - been advised it aint the best thing to keep doing the jumps as it could easily snap the chain.

Glad you had fun though!

Last time I went down there I was with a 2005 R6, kept him in sight the whole way ;) Quite funny, at the end his Pilot Powers were bobbled up all over, the Roadtecs just had a wee bit of bobbles at the edge... There was another guy on a near-stock SV with us, he as quite handy but he was having to push way too hard to keep up so he called it a day- sensible man.
