Some SPECS cameras have been newly installed on the A2 between the Bluewater and M25 juntions.

I regularly use this section of road and would also like to know whether us bikers can be caught. I see some riders obey the average speed limit and some don't.

Thanks

It's such a simple thing to suggest but how about DON'T SPEED = no ticket. Show some restraint.
Hopfully then the cameras can nick people for the real cause of so many crashes on our roads ie. tailgating.

I've called them a "person" for the grace of the forum, that's not really my take on them.

What about all those folks who tailgait to avoid detection of the cameras? If they're front facing, there's no better place to hide than behind another car, so close that the camera can't see you. The recognition systems would (and do) see it as a single mass, therefore if you're both speeding, only the front guy gets to pay.

About the SPECS, MOST are front facing, and those that are, don't worry me on the bike. Having said that, it's not unknown for them to flag the fact that a vehicle was speeding but couldn't get a number plate 'lock'. In this case, police patrols will be increased, once they've worked out when you commute past the camera!
