View Full Version : Review: Suzuki 10mm lower seat for K4 K6 K6
I ordered and just fitted a Suzuki 10mm lower seat to Vix SK6 and it makes much more of a difference than you'd expect.
Well worth the £28 rrp and as you now have a spare seat you've got the option of shaving one down if it's still not low enough, or if you don't need to, the original can go on ebay. She's well chuffed.
If you want to sell your original one let me know!
The thread says "Review".
Any chance of a few more comments on the seat. Pros and cons etc.

Not much more I can say really, construction is as per the OEM part, the only difference is that they've clearly used less foam padding resulting in a slightly lower, slightly narrower seat.
So PRO's:
- shorter riders can reach the floor a bit better
- slightly more upright riding position = easier on the wrists and back.
- cheap
- Having two saddles means you can butcher one to go even lower if
needed, or sell the spare to recover part of purchase price.
- doesn't affect the handling in any way (unlike shorter dog-legs or other
lowering approaches).
- easily reversible.
CON's:
- less padding = possible numb bum on longer rides
- increases your carbon footprint, so you'll probably go to hell

Gosh, £28? Do you just order them from a friendly bike shop? That's a lot cheaper than £200ish Corbin jobbie.

If you've still got the paperwork could you possibly confirm the part number for me? Closest I can find is 45100-16G90-W05 - seems to be listed as a K4 lower seat at http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/shop/index.php/product/suzuki_motorcycle/suzuki_accessories/sv650s/sv650sk4/45100-16G90-W05.html though I'm guessing K4-K6 is all pretty much the same.

Where would I find this info? Have looked thru documents and can't see any numbers looking like yours...

My doppelganger...same bike (color) same helmet

Shame 'bout the ebay mess ups, that website seems to have correct ones listed sensibly tho.

If you got some bering textiles and you we can be passed of as a clone :riding:
Got my seat today, came to work in the cage today so I cant check if it fits, but from looking at it it's not promising, I got one of the ebay messups I made in the office with me and it looks EXACTLY the same.
The only possible thing I can think of is that I have a K3 pointy registered on a 04 plate.
Can I check this in the v5?
i had a sit on ejohns bike its a curvy like mine but he had a cut down seat the differance was very noticable when sat on the bike but we could not tell just by looking at it
HTH

Ah yes, I checked mine out before ordering and mine is a k3 registered on an '04 plate. And there are no seats for that. Rubbish.
