Following on from the career change thread - Has anyone else noticed the link between geekyness and owning an SV? It seems that with more and more posts, it isn't a coincidence.
Are there any cool SV owners on here? By cool I mean for a:
a fighter pilot
film star
porn star
sports star
people with numchuck skills, bow-hunting skills, computer hacking skills....
you get the idea.
I know of a pilot...not fighter but he does fly 737's full of drunken englishmen taking their cheap 18-30 package holidays

By your own admission, you
-do networky things for a job
-act out battles with swords, leather and stuff
-play world of warcraft.
Even being an extra in Top Gun, couldn't revert geek status!

I'm all of those things. Tho i had to get out of porn cos the g/f complained that i didnt pay her enough attention.
Ive also done 4 or 5 diffrent martial arts in my time and ive been on telly a couple of times, yes even speaky bits.
Lived on an island in the sunshine, off the african coast for 4 yrs too.
Oh and of course, i'm also a superhero. Part Time. ;)
Does that help you feel all SV riders aint geeeks?
i'm none of the above but 100% certain i'm not a geek

I think it's an internet forum thing, not an SV thing.

Ahh but geeks are the new cool people :)
Networky things are cool - and you get cute girlies asking you round to help set up their "internet thingy" or look at their PC thats not working.
And what do you think we do after the battles, we drink, and some of the girlies are incredibly cute, and some of the costumes they come up with - chainmail bikini's anyone???
Just like bike-forums, WoW players sometimes get together in real-life - and I know more than one or two of them who are - yep you guessed it Cute Girlies.
You see, Cute Girlies LIKE geeks, because a high percentage of them are
1) Intelligent
2) Pay great attention to detail
3) Have "interesting hobbies" - if you can make armour then you can make cute little designer handbags etc
4) Are not really into a lot of the Macho-Bullsh!t stuff
But then maybe thats just my point of view :)

Have to agree with SoulKiss, except I don't go poking people with sticks in the woods  or play WoW for that matter (wish I had the time!)

I'm entirely a geek. But as geeks go, I'm fairly cool. At uni I had my pick of the geeky chicks ;)
How do I tell if I'm cool or a geek? :?

I am a butcher and I cut up cute animals for a living.
I AM cool 8) and if anyone says otherwise - Keep ya pets locked up at Night
I only ended up a geek by default, I have aspired to all of the following, here are my excuses.
a fighter pilot - failed the medical (seriously)
film star - as photogenic as a road accident
porn star - Mrs Tricky vito'd this one
sports star - career ruined at an early age by a complete lack of any talent
people with numchuck skills, bow-hunting skills, computer hacking skills.... - my Mum confiscated my numchucks.......

I've got a thumb which bends back a long way - I've always thought that made me pretty cool (once I realised not everyone has a thumb like it). Can I be considered part of the cool gang please?
I'm pretty cool I erm.......................instruct russian electronics and play guild wars.
But I am covered in tattoos and own a motorbike. :D
...there is so many geeks on the forum as they have the jobs with the most time available - you can mix it in with all the geeky networky stuff.
I'm not a geek though - the above is just a theory I have.
And whats a Numchuck?

Two foot long pieces of broom handle connected together by a length of plug chain (mine where anyway)
I'm probably a geek but I ride like a c*nt if that helps?

My gf has an "I love Geeks" tshirt with a picture of Millhouse (from the Simpsons)on it.
I pointed out that aside from it being offensive when I was in her company, it was either grammatically incorrect or that she was a woman of "loose morals" as it suggested she loved more than one geek. She pointed out that my noticing this negated my right to be annoyed by the first part. :)
im not a geek :compcrash:
