Just got myself a set of soft panniers for the bike. However, the instructions are not as clear as I would hope... Has anyone else got a set that could post a pic of how they should be attached to the bikes?

Cheers,

Stu

I have a set of the sports panniers!!! do they have 3 Velcro straps on them? If so is the one in the middle thinner than the other two? That one traps under your pillion seat and the other two go over the top and adjust so the panniers sit right. Then there is some straps on the bottom corners of the panniers! The ones at the front fasten to your pillion hangers. The ones to the rear fasten around the rear of the bike!!!

Hope this has shed some light on them for you!!!

Yup, sounds like the same ones. So the adjustable straps just have to be undone (at the moment they just look like straps that lead to nowhere...

I'll go to the bike in a few mins and see how it fits up.

Personally I don't bother with the adjustable straps, I have some specially shortened bungees that do a much better job and are much easier to fit IMO.

And here's a pic of mine and my brothers bikes resplendent with their panniers, for no other reason than I like posting pictures of my bike as you can't actually see how they're fitted .

Managed to get them on OK. Will have to have a look at the bungy idea, as the seat straps are a doddle, but the adjustables are a bit of a pain to do. Hopefully it'll get easier with time.

Must admit that will close the rocommended weight (flour, sugar, fruit, potaties etc) in the bags there was no noticable feel on the ike that I was carrying the extra weight - was very impressed with that.

Gotta agree with a review I found this morning whilst looking for instructions before I posted. Reviewer loved the bags but wanted to kow why they couldn't have made an easy system for the adjustables. Either semi permament fittingsto clip into, or even just make the staps 2 peice with a clip so you adjust once and just clip together after that.

Hohum, at least I got it sorted :)

Cheer all,

I only ever adjust my adjustable straps when I change the bike; I never, ever pull them apart otherwise.

Remove the rear seat, then use the middle strap to set the distance between the two bags. Then push the seat back on, and do up the bigger adjustables over the top of it (front one usually goes in front of the pillion seat actually, rather than over the pillion pad). Once they're set correctly, you will be able to remove the pillion seat to get them off, and there's no need to undo any of the straps again! Just fold up the left bag to get to the lock, and use a bungee underneath to stop them bouncing around on the road. I can fit/remove the bags in about 2 minutes now, and they always fit perfectly... :)

OK so you don't use the adjustable straps? Just bunge between them. Have to give that a try.

Thanks.
