Got these a wee while back, they were £130 I think... They're just your regular textile trousers really, nothing interesting to look at, but they come with good hip pockets for knox amour (properly shaped, not just a big empty bag), as well as the top-of-the-range Knox soft armour with the plastic outer in the knees. They seem solidly built, good heavy fabric and the fasteners are solid as a rock. They have the standard removable thermal lining, 2 pockets, and no vents.

They're as waterproof an item of bike clothes as I've ever used... On wednesday I was riding in torrential rain for about an hour and a half and they weren't even touched. Really bette rthan I expected.

Without the thermal lining, they're not warm. This may strike you as a daft observation ;) I wear my textiles over work clothes most of the time so I always ditch the linings, and these are the least warm trousers I've ever done that with. Still, they're snug with the lining in, and I'd sooner be slightly cold and dry, than warm till they leak and then frozen to the bone.

The only real beef I have is with the waist adjustment... there's no compression straps around the waist apart from the main fastener strap, which doesn't have a very good range.

Recommended, these... Shame they don't come with teh hip armour but then not everyone wants that.

I spoke with the folks at Teknics at the Alley Palley show in the weekend and I must say out of all the kit and suppliers there these guys were the best at their jobs. They were knowledgeable with well supported constructive design features on all of their kit. The best bit though was what you got for your money - seemed excellent value.

However - just wondered if others have real life experience with their kit??? Also Northwind - were the trousers breathable at all??

I usually wear them as overtrousers over a pair of jeans or work trousers, so I can't say for sure how breathable they really are- they're not like wearing binliners though :)
