Bought Classic Rock magazine's 'Blues Rock' compilation album over the weekend, and it features the great 'Bad to the bone' by George Thorogood. Everyone knows it from Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
This got me thinking of bike related songs. So far:
Born to be wild - Steppenwolf (a big cliche)
Flash of the blade - Iron Maiden
Motorcycle Man - Saxon
Anybody got anymore? Or on the right road, at the right speed, on the right day, with fine weather, when it does not get any better, whats the song going through your head?
Anybody got anymore?
"You could be mine" by Guns 'n' Roses. Used in Terminator (1) when Arnie was riding a "Hardly Movingson" Fat Boy whilst chasing the kid.......a classic and the song that goes through my head during a relaxed, flowing ride (about once a year, then!) :D
Jon Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
Silver dream machine..... David Essex...
Motorbiking... Chris Spedding.
Jon Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
On a steel horse I ride. Love the song.
'You could be mine' was T2 (Don't think there was a G'N'R when they made T1 was there?) Another great song.

Echo & The Bunnymen : Silver - Since Pete DeFreitas bought it in a motorbike crash. Plus it's an ace song.
Primal Scream : Kowalski - Technically about a cars but who amongst us hasn't gunned it to lose the cops it a drug fuelled haze while a blind DJ eggs us on. Might be an idea for AR07
George Fornby: Riding in the TT races - Pure class, and my uncle had the album too 8)
In my collection :-
Motorcycle Emptiness - Manic Street Preachers
Motorcycle Drive By - Third Eye Blind

Hitler's nazis made a great biking propaganda film in the thirties called "Triumph of Deauville".
Then the Stones made a song of it ---Sympathy for the Deauville.

Little Honda by the Beach Boys...
"It's not a big motorcycle
Just a groovy little motorbike
It's more fun that a barrel of monkeys
That two wheel bike"
You have to admire the way they rhymed "bike" with "bike" there, that's proper songsmithing.
Hmm. "5 Kids Go" by Hell is for Heroes isn't actually about bikes at all, but could be: "Empty highroads calling, calling"
Wait... I'm getting something... One by Metallica.
That's Metallicar- One.
Despite being a huge Bon Jovi fan and lovin' "Wanted" I have to say that my favourite bike song is "The Motorcycle Song" by Arlo Guthrie 8)
Fantastic, funny and well worth a listen
Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

There's a parody of the "Wild Rover" song that goes, "...and it's no, nay, never/ no nay never, no more/ will I plaaaay the Hell's Angel/no never, no more."
It's quite funny and goes on sing about the hero of the song trying to find parts for his bike only to be told, "...You're riding a Norton/We stock BSA."
Oddly enough, it used to be a campfire song in scouts!
Just found the full lyrics (we sang it a bit different in places, but it was largely the same)
The Hells Angel
Well I've been a hells angel for many a year
And I’ve spent all me money on black leather gear
But now I’m returning my bum it is sore
And never I’ll play the hells angel no more
Chorus
And it's No Nay Never (Right up your clutch)
No nay never no more
Will I play the hells angel
No never no more
I went into a garage I used to frequent
And told the mechanic my crankshaft was bent
I asked for a new one, he answered me nay
He said your’s is Norton we stock BSA
Chorus
I took from my pocket, a brand new flick knife
And his eyes opened wide, in fear for his life
He shouted I'M SORRY, TAKE WHAT YOU LIKE
I said ta very much mate I'll have a new bike
Chorus
Well as I was picking my brand new machine
Some 40 odd skinheads appeared on the scene
They said “Oi, you want bovver?”, I could not say nay
As 20 steel toecaps were heading my way
Chorus
Now as I recover in the intensive care ward
I practice my alphabet to stop getting bored
‘Cos after the kicking my head it is sore
And never I’ll play the Hells Angel no more

It's not about motorcycling (it's about the other sort of 'ride'), but I think Alec Empire's "The Ride" is very apt for a bike ride and it's probably the song my brain 'sings' most when out riding. If you don't like Alec Empire's noisier stuff, it's still worth checking out as this track has more in common with rock than that Atari Teenage Riot nonsense that goths listen to.

 I don't have any real biker songs and TBH I just concentrate on the road when I'm out. I'll check out the song though.
Motorbike Beat by the Revillos, the most craptastic bike song ever written.

The only track I can ever equate to when riding is "Radar Love" by Golden Earing. Especially the bit that goes:
"No more speed, I'm almost there
Gotta keep cool now, gotta take care
Last car to pass, here I go
And the line of cars drove down real slow"
I thought anything by Motorhead was related to bikers... Well I did in the 80's :?
