I am reluctantly selling my SV as i am moving to the USA. Its a great bike and i have a garage purely to keep it in.

The bike is in good condition, it passed its MOT no snags in May this year.

I bought the bike May 2005, at which time 2 new tyres were put on it, they are still in good shape. I fitted new chain and sprockets in Feburary this year, alongside this i am running a Scottoiler. The drivetrain is in very good condition.

the only fault i have had on the bike is the regulator/rectifier which 'expired' last winter. This led to fitment of a new one and a new battery.

I fitted new brake pads to the front in April, which work well... they are Carbone Lorraine pads.

I am in Preston, if your nearby, feel free come and look at it.

I would be looking for £2000. With that being the price to sell at... not less :D

oh well..... :(

obviously not due to the lack of response!!!!

what is a good figure for it???

Thing is i paid £3300 18 months ago... which i thought was fair then!

I will be open to take market value. 8)

If you can hold on until spring you'll make a bit more. Winter is a buyer's market.

you're definately not helping!!! :(

I gotta say though.... i have looked on BikeTrader and i dont think 2 grand is way OTT.

The cheapest one on there within 40 miles is £1500... I can hardly aim to take the cheapest price now can i???

Similar bikes at around 1800 - 2000 quid... so why not try for the cash, its been garaged. 8)

I agree, i may have paid over the odds, i dont expect the buyer to take the hit for that though!!! I bought it from Suzuki see, to ensure it was in good nick.

Sounds like you got a bargain mate!!! £2900 for a 2 year old SV!!! lucky git!!! :D

i re-enter the forum quite embarrassed

I just looked through my papers and i have a receipt for £2455 !!!! which is actually £2390 + tax (i think) don't know where i got the number extra £1000 from!!!

i guess, 18 months later and getting on for 10,000 miles, i should expect depreciation to take the price down to £1500 or so...

This doesn't change much, because i was only gonna ask market value... so anybody???

just make an offer, disregarding any ridiculous number further up :P

To give you an idea of price, I just sold my '99 SVS:

12k mileage
OEM Fairing Lowers
OEM Undertray
OEM Single Seat Cowl (Original Pillion Seat inc)
Carbon Hugger
FFabbri Dark Tint DB Screen
Various cosmetic Carbon trim (Yoke/Tank Protector etc)
3/4 System G-Force Exhaust
Full service history

12mths MOT
6mths Tax

Absolute mint condition - there's not even any corrosion to the front forks and they're the first to go.

I got £1800 for her.

Now that was a good price, but it is a very sound bike. £15/16k sounds a reasonable aim in comparison.

Thanks,
Your bike had a fair few less miles on it than mine mind!

I am asking £1500 now.

I wont however be prepared to go lower.... because it just isnt worth selling, i would rather wait til spring when the market opens up!!!!
