View Full Version : Trashed my bike
Was coming home from work when a pickup truck pulled out and I went straight into the side of it.
I got away with some scratches and bruises, but the bike is a bit worse for wear...

Owwwww! I've never seen a fork lower bend like that... Some really strange damage on there all round, like the broken water pump cover. One to give the armchair experts some food for thought... Fairly safe to assume that'll be written off :( But from the looks of it, it could've been a hell of a lot worse.
Does it look to be clear cut with insurance etc?
Holy ****........... ******* truck!! Exi I've seen you "thrash" your bike before but that is ridiculous!!! Lookin at the damage its hard to believe you're only scratched and bruised.. I'm thinkin at least heart broken too!!! Well I would be! Really sorry to hear the news & hope you get a replacement soon and lotsa cash for any unbroken bits..
Looks like you were lucky to escape without nothing other than a few bruises.

Well - you're OK, the bike can be replaced.
Pity though cos there's not a lot of copper ones about.
Hope to see you back on the road soon.

Really bad news, glad you were able to walk away, thats all that matters really, the rest is just metal and plastic and inconvience,
Is it straight cut his fault? did he admit liability, witnesses, police etc,
If you still want to go to st andrews for the icecream run I can take you pillion if you want, your only half an hour away from me. (unless g/f changes her mind and wants to go) it would be a tight squeeze with 3 of us on the bike.
Have just sent off the forms to the insurance company. I'll get a new bike in the spring or so, think it's best to commute in a car for the winter anyway.
My leathers did their job well, a couple of seams are torn (hip and shoulder), and I got a rash on my elbow, but no big deal. The helmet is a bit smashed up too, but I had no problems with my head or neck at all, which is amazing when I see what's left of the bike. I think next time I'll get gloves with hard protection along the top and fingers, as I got a nasty knock on my hand which is now pretty painful to use.
Have fun on the ice cream run etc, I'll be cheering you on from here :)

Nonsense! Was in Ride On in Glasgow yesterday getting some L plates for Mrs Tiger (Boy is THAT another thread) and they had a copper K3 in the window. Want me to get them to hold it for you? Or if you went this afternoon you could be back in business for the ice crean run....
And it's not winter for another 6 weeks anyway...

That really shouldn't happen, you know :) Makes the whole rest of the leathers irrelevant if seams burst. What sort where they out of curiosity?
