Eventually got round to recording a wee video of the Dukes Pass.
Goto:

Click on James. Then save the Aberfoyle video clip to your hard drive. It's 80mb in size, so it's not for dial up users... (I don't have broadband myself  ) Had to use my mate's web server who's got 12mb broadband - jammy git!!!

I used a JVC Mini DV camcorder (tape), with AV In/Out, USB (In/Out), and DV In/Out. The JVC camcorder was the only one I could find with those features. Every newer one you look at now either records to a DVD or hard drive, and has no DV or AV input sockets. I also had to buy a PCMIA firewire card and a Mini DV firewire cable to get the streaming video into the laptop. Once that's all going, I can stream and control the camera from the laptop.
It's only a starter film playing around with windows movie maker to see what's possible. I'll get a better picture and results with more practice once I get used to the camera and video software.
For the camera shots, I got a bullet cam kit from www.rfconcepts.co.uk Not cheap, but If you wanna make a wee movie, then you gotta spend the bucks..
I mounted the bullet cam (round tube with a 2.9mm lens) to the underside of the front air intakes of the kawasaki using gaffer tape, and routed the cables to a tank bag which held the camcorder and the associated cables. (The cables used alone takes up a shed load of space in a tank bag....)
I've got a microphone for the bullet cam too, but I need to make up a power lead (12v) and get the correct power plug. Sounds like a wee trip to Maplins whenever I can get some spare time. Once that's sorted, I'll be able to mount the wee microphone next to the exhaust or wherever I want to.
It's a bit boring just listening to music and not hearing an engine note....
I've also got some footage of Callender to Tyndrum, but that's not getting put online 'cos there's some naughty bits I'd get repremanded for   For reasons I ain't saying...

hey jimster - you out playing and no telling me?
Ver cool vid and some nice lines. Was that you slowing down for the descent towards the loch
Nice camera work. BTW - I have a sony cam that on the SV I just mount to the tank but I'm going to have to look around the cbr for a new mounting point.

The censored stuff lives on my laptop and also my mates web server. One phone call to him, and he can copy and paste the naughty material to my folder on his server. Depends how desperate you want to see it... (33 miles in just over 34 minutes  On cop infested roads too :!: )
Stuarty - If you couldn't get access to it, then his PC is probably switched off for the night whilst he and his missus went to a bonfire night party. It's usually kept on most of the time, cos he downloads stuff constantly. Just recently he got his power bill - that's probably why you couldn't get access to it
I'll make an appearance for the ice cream run if it's not raining like cats and dogs. Come video equipped too :P :P

Don't bother trying to download these vids anymore folks until I find a more reliable source to store them for a faster / easier accessable downloads.
My mate plays silly buggers at times with his broadband connections, and takes personal security seriously after he found out one of his neighbours hijacked his wireless broadband. He thought it was running slow until he ran some tracer program and found out who was stealing his internet downloading speed. Now only his server, my laptop and his wife's laptop can access the internet.
He's probably stopped all outgoing dowloads from his hard drive. I'll speak to him and see what he's playing at.... then I'll get the files moved to somewhere else like youtube or something.
Sorry for the hassles folks....

Not sure of tune no 1, but track 2 is "Cross Town Traffic" by Jimmy Hendrix.
Haven't watched the rest yet. Bloody good though.
