View Full Version : Rideout Sunday 19th 10 am - Pirbright Twisties
Starting out Pirbright Twisties.
Going through the Pirbright Twisties until the Pirbright Twisties then coming back through the Pirbright Twisties until you get to the Pirbright Twisties and then doing them some more.
Basically I had fun in them today and don't see the point of going any further.
May try and work out some kind of route with some point to it this week. :D
 Were you out there with the IAM chaps - or just practicing your refined skills?
Was wet and slippy last weekend. If its dry I will come out for a twist.

Yeah today with IAM
Forgot to mention it's pretty much a given that if the roads are wet I won't bother myself.
Did you get out at all yourself today?

Yeah, is good, not with your group though. Well worth the time if you end up with a good observer. Where is Pirbright Twisties though?

I like.....can I gatecrash if I'm warm and sober? (big night fri..... )
no need to gatecrash, it's any open invite - dry roads being the only requirement. :D
And don't expect me to lead - I think it could be easily be pretty much a free for all

Meeting place - on the far right, there is a path running North from where the road passes under the railway Bridge. There is a car park there where the path meets Gapemouth Rd. OK?

What time you thinking? :-k
Just watch out for damp patches under the trees etc. as at this time of the year it can be really bad.
9am?
edit: seeing above 10 might be better but if Gmonsta wants an early one?
See if GMonsta can remember the route we took the other weekend down to Box hill. A Few laps of Pirbright, then boring bit down A3, then somewhere fun round the back of Godalming then the superb A272 then A24 wheelies then burger at Box hill. Sorted. Somehow managed 120 miles there but only 16 back. Some detour.
However you will want an Aprilia at the end of it.
And if any of you are IAMing with the TVAM group, give me a shout.
Be careful out there.....

I like the idea of a greasy burger/bacon sandwich post-ride...

Of course you can carry on if you want to, but I just want to focus on the track
Any good place for Breakfast in the Pirbright/Brookwood/Deepcut area?
When you're done carry on to Northcamp. Then you have the choice of the Infinity cafe or if it's closed, go round the corner from Heingericke and there's the Rushmore cafe. HUGE greasy breakfast and you've got HG and Infinity on your doorstep to go and spend money you have no previous intention of changing.
Enjoy.

Well I'll be in Barbados enjoying the 33 degree sunshine so won't be able to join you l ot. Just go careful please, those roads are getting very greasy. Have fun fellas!
Yeah rub it in why dontcha!
They're probably not as greasy as the roads in Barbados
Will try to be careful, but if anyone is considering - there's quite a bit of shellgrip IIRC.
Could well be a delay til Sunday (son's Birthday so could be awkward :?) - keep your eye on the weather.

Think that's right about the golf course but under the bridge on your right if you still can't follow the instructions above, just ask Gmonsta to mark an arrow on the map and post it again.
By the time you get to Boxhill it will be a bit late for Brekkie  - what 6 laps of the track then head over?

Thanks guys sorry I couldn't stay longer :D
Cheers Guys - good thing with Pirbright is you can fit half a days worth of corners into an hour. Mark and I saw our friend heading back towards the bridge again - I dont think he managed to find a concealed enough spot

Eurgh !!!! sorry chaps, woke up with a right old stinker of a cold so riding was out of the question for me.
Maybe next time :D

Bit difficult to conceal a big **** off marked Transit - would have been fun to give him a run for his money (if not wise).
It would be great to just fit this in again weather dependent, if it's not to far for you to come. Should have a bit more time, but had to run off to watch Barnyard
Thats some course you have there Stu.
The pit lane that is Sturt Rd is a bit long, so good idea just to go back on yourself. And repeat! :D
I rode the top part of that road a whole ago...very nice too. However, this weekend i will be watching the other half swim with Sharks!!
Cheers gents, what a great way to waste an hour or so. Definitely up for doing that next time it's dry and not too many leaves about. Perhaps one day I'll be able to look as cool as you two :riding: :notworthy: although I was not that far behind on the last run. Just need more practice.
As for the van, I'm sure it's no coincidence he stopped and parked up each of those two last runs. Apart from iffy cans (Stu), slightly dark visors (Stu) and potentially excessive speed at points (those other guys) I'm not sure what he was going to do us for. Can't see it could be considered illegal to go up and down the same bit of road too often.
Thanks again,
Mark

Exactly - I think this is why he was on the move again when we saw him the 2nd time.

Yeah no problem with a short run and to get this in on a sunny weekend for an hour or so.

Is this one of them Groundhog day thingies? I thought it was last Sunday, or have you just edited the thread title and your going round again :D
Ooh. now there's a dilemma.
1. Goto TVAM and do sensible riding and take JonToms along to get him going
2. Go lapping police cars on them twisties again and see if I can reduce my expansive chicken strips.
Guess it will depend on the weather. If it's good AND JT blows me out I'll probably see you in the layby by the bridge again.
Although this time as I'll have a longer pass it may have to end up with a greasy burger.
Put me down as a weather & JT dependent possible.
Cheers,
Mark

Thought TVAM was Sunday? or can you not get a pass for both days? Can easily do Sunday instead, also if Gmonsta wants Sat to fix tyre.
Good point. Yes, I have a Sunday pass. Sunday good for me but as I'm still a probably do not want to mess it up for everyone else.
Sunday would be better for me thanks.

Sweet coldtyres - of course you are welcome. The meeting point is the carpark next to the Railway bridge that goes over the road. More info above.

So, 10:00 Sunday, few laps then off for a burger? Just need to make sure the overconfidence does not set in as those trees are a bit on the hard side.
May bring my camera along and take some pics on the corners so we can all have a cool pic on our profile as we hurtle off sideways into the forest.
im also keen to do the pirbright twisties used to live in ash vale been a while since ive done them
10am sharp, or you'll see me on the track. I mean road, yeah sorry, definitely a road.
Cheers again fellows. Good to meet you Gavin.
