View Full Version : Winter Games
Okay Guys and gals of the Ecosse Posse.
Seeing as most of us lay up our bikes for winter and do SFA for the rest of the months till spring decides to make an appearance.
So in the true style of being sociable howabout meeting up at some point to do something!!
Post your replies/msgs/opinions below - keep them clean.

 Lets go karting. I'd say minimotoing but I don't fit them anymore :) Indoor paintball's rubbish, and outdoor paintball's, well, cold if you do it in winter ;)

Why are **** ups not allowed?
Was gonna suggest a wine tasting :drunken:
Go karting for me then. BUT paintball I've never done. I don't mind the cold as I mountainbike all winter anyway. Cold wet and muddy is braw!

Outdoor paintballing's absolutely brilliant... Expensive, mind. I think I spent about £70 the first time I did it

Go Karting, the one out near tranent is outdoor and the karts do 70mph (not with my weight on them) I've done the indoor ones a couple of times but the weight difference plays an even bigger part (ie I'm always last) either that or I'm just crap and slow.
Or paintball, I think there is only one in scotland which still uses co2 rather than compressed air, ape paintball, it will be cold but might be locky ang get a dry frosty day

The site at Dalmahoy- is it still Skirmish?- is top notch, it's in a forested river valley. Bit of everthing- they've even got an island. Though they're expensive for paint, I think they were £9 for 100 last time I was there unless you buy bulk. And probably 1/10 of their guns is ****ed too, quite annoying sometimes.

but then again, mini-moto racing could be fun
Go Karting at livingston if needed - will check today re prices and availability
Mini motoing - will check when and where and prices if I find somewhere central.
I'm assuming before xmas and we must be allowed to wear full gear including our helmets!

If we go paintballing I need to know the location a week in advance. I like to smear myself in animal droppings, dig a hole and wait...........................
Er, better go karting then!

Well, the heavier you are the more traction you get and the more speed you can carry through the corners and hence along the straights. Lighter guys tend to skitter to the outside and have to lift to avoid the barriers. So you must just be slow then
Hey! Them's fighting words...
The poll options notwithstanding, my vote goes for a **** up :drink:

Karting sounds good, but :stupid: . I don't think a **** up should be off limits either!!

None taken!
p*** ups ain't allowed as its hard for all of us to meet up without someone driving and it not child friendly (for hazel if no babaysitters around)
Beside i'm sure most of us do that every weekend and we want to do something different. I'm looking at karting at Livingston (fairly central for us all). Does anybody have any major problems with this - if so speak now or forever hold your peace!
Whinging on the night will not be tolerated! :smt079 :smt079 :smt074 :smt074 :smt093

R u coming up for this jdubya, seeing as its alcohol free and you didnt quite manage the rideout on your last visit due to a dodgey pint.  Sure you could persuade Dicky Ticker to come, he's a rideout tart, he'll go anywhere

If you're trying to make me homesick its working!!! [-X My only problem with Karting is last time I went I got (would you believe?) Kartsick!!... :smt078 then again... it could've just been a hangover??! Are there pool tables at this Windyforks or sorry was it Rainyknives place or wot?!... We could have a pool comp??!! :P Notice the last bus back into Edi is 2245 so there's some drinkin time to spare!!! BTW Quedos.. who's this Martin guy??!
This Martin Guy is Tim Martin - owners of weatherspoons. he's an alright guy but the way he's company works sucks.
Used to be a pub manager with them opened 2 pubs in Scotland which is about 7 days a week for 8 weeks working anywhere up to 100hrs a week. I done 2 in v quick succession - burned out real bad - lost all strength in back through the cellar work and them got told that after 18mths of really good work they were terminating my contract ( my doc wouldn't let me back anyway) offered me another job in Watford head office but I would still need to go through interview etc etc etc. This is the same bunch that told me to visit the company doctor in Watford for assessment. At the time had a six disks out of place no feeling in my legs and therefore couldn't drive but as Glasgow was on the same page as Watford on their map i should have travelled down by train!!!! I then got accused of being obstructive!
Rant over! and sorry!

Charmers, eh  Sounds like you're well rid of that... How's the back now by the way?
It's a shame really cos I loved that job :smt089 (not the hours those) though had I not left me and him wouldn't have hitched up (is that a good or bad thing?!?!?!?!?!?!)
The back is not great still - must see about get a workstation assessment and stop crossing me legs.
All the things I enjoy doing!!
Hopefully next year I will see it I can ride the SV or if I'll need to get a new ER6F. (seeing as my dad wants the Honda) Watch this space :smt026
