The 3 became 2, Duckmans wheel let him down.
I left Denny and followed Colins excellent directions to his house, where Bacon rolls and coffee were gratefully received.
Waved goodbye to Murphy and left Harthill with 2 very clean shiney bikes http://upload4.postimage.org/1578943/DSC01191.jpg (http://upload4.postimage.org/1578943/photo_hosting.html)
and headed south.
South to Carnwath, East to peebles then Gala, South through selkirk and Hawick. Straight down the A7 to Langholm through Longtown and into Carlisle for Fuel.
The roads so far were great nice twisties, good long sweepers, only problem was the amount of mud and slurry and wet leaves, It was like riding on ice. There was that much crap on the roads that when either bike went over white lines a brown track was laid.
Stopped at sainsbury's for fuel and toilets, colin stayed with the bikes (to save locking them up) and I nipped in.
A family came over to look at the bikes and the kids decided that they preferred the bigger one  (mine), colin and i switched roles and a couple of kids came over and again commented on the Bigger Bike  So its official the Blue is silver is bigger and better than the red
Set off again, roads much cleaner and dry now down to Penrith on the A6 which we managed to loose in penrith so headed west on the A592 past Ullswater over a very interesting and challanging pass to windermere.
From windemere to blackpool was achieved in record time (43 mins) as colin noticed we were running late and were supposed to meet Dicky ticker in less than an hour. On the outskirts of blackpool we stopped and colin was going to call mac and let him know we were late when I pointed out that he'd forgotten to put the bike clock back an hour. Bikes now showed the state of the roads.

Found the B&B, basic but nice, lovely lady babs, got the bikes secured in the garage and out for a couple of beers and a meal with Damon and ALison who mac knew through the triumph forum.
Mac, colin and myself went for a wee walk in sunny blackpool on the sunday morning

Got taken for a nice run on the sunday (100miles) by 4 Triumph sprint st's, 2 955's & 2 1050's
dont really know where we went someplace called the trough ?? then out for a meal at night before heading down to the illuminations run.
Hundreds of bikes all shapes and sizes, however the promised road closure didnt materialise so the run down the promenade was a sucession of 20 yard crawls in 1st gear followed by 15 secs to 3 mins sitting idle, very disapointing.

Colin and I left before the end as we had a long trip and it was crap, Filled up und settled into the seats for a long run, managed 12 miles then colin pulled in abruptly, his gear leaver had fallen off,

We managed to get it sorted and headed up the motorway, 110 miles at an average speed of 93KPH  before stopping for fuel, played for a wee ahile with a cbr6 but he didnt seem to want to maintain the pace.
Came out of the services and within 2 miles saw that :plod: had pulled a cage, presumabely for speeding, (lucky white heather) Kept the heads down until Colin peeled off for home at jct 8.
All in all a great weekend, 600 miles, food, beer and good company, Whens the next one
