DVD to MPG Software

Anyone recommend any software that will covert a DVD to an MPG so I can edit the footage. I have some bike footage I took and want to take out all the rubbish riding bits.

Dr divx is pretty good. All this software takes ages to convert them, regardless of your computer. It does it in real time!
