We had quite a heated discussion about this today at work
If you won the full jackpot what would you do.....
A) Would you go completely public, keeping in mind that this could possibly endanger your family due to the idiots that might demand money for your dog or something. You could quit your job and live out your dream of touring the world or whatever. By doing this you would all of a sudden be swamped with new "friends" only after your money. You might also begin to doubt your old friends intentions. i.e. if you are living a millionaires lifestyle, and want you friends to share in it (which you probably would) you would then have to fund their millionaire lifestyle too. This would then make you think that they are money grabbers and are growing dependent on your hand-outs, almost leaching off you.
Or...
B) Would you keep it quiet and only tell family and close friends. Keeping your family safer and being able to share your fortune with them, making all of your life's better by being financially secure. Again you could live out your dream. But you would still have the problem of friends intentions.
Or...
C) Would you not tell anyone and keep it to yourself. You family and friends wont treat you any differently. You would continue on at work and life would be pretty much the same except that you know that you are forever financially secure and don't have to worry about any future mishaps.
One possible way to deal with the "trusting friends" thing, that was suggested by someone, is that you could start your own dream business (maybe designing and building custom bikes :P ) and you could then employ your friends to work for you. That way they are still working for their money but can share in your fortune and millionaire lifestyle and also do there dream job, but are not just leaching off you
so.....what would you do :?:
All very tricky but I think I'd opt for B and hope that it didn't go public!! At least if it is public then you would know that you were in possible danger and secure your family where as if you didn't go public you would be forever thinking that you were but someone was being secretive about possible hurting your family so either way you're loved ones are still at risk whatever the decision or you could just think that you wasn't at risk and somone knows anyway! (Could get very confusing! )
Either way I'd be much happier not having any money worries and I'd try not to let it change me too much!

B for at least a few years.
I'm not that worried about my friends intentions; they all hang around me now when I have **** all and not ever likely to have much.
ive just done 3 lines..now im going to do the lottery
TBH I'd be over the moon with £200K so I could but Tricky Towers outright, buy some more motorbikes, jack in my well paid but miserable job, and have a poorly paid enjoyable one.

It's me - I won it :D
Well not all of it
I buy my lottery tickets on line, and got the reply via email - "We have some exciting news for you - click here, etc"
So I got down on my knees (OK Knee  ) and I had a quick word with the man up there.
"Dear Lord" I said, "Please let it be anything other than a tenner". "I'm not a greedy man, but I've never had more than a tenner over all these years, and I could do with a bit of spare dosh, it being almost Xmas and the children's presents to buy, etc. "
So I opened the email.
It wasn't a tenner - it was £7.60
I thank you Lord, for your sense of humour

Rofl I didn't want to commit myself to too much as WHEN I do win the lottery I'm going to have to do a lot of planning.
I'm sure I'd do something more for the org once I'd
a) been resucetated
b) checked the numbers 100 times to be sure
c) stopped running around my room whooping
d) figured out what the hell I'm going to do with it all :)
Maybe set up a fund for the .org to cover peoples legal and other fee's after an off so that more people can take the time to pursue the numpties that we all run into occasionally.
P.S: Technically I did win the lottery, I got 2 numbers and a star so for £6 of tickets I got £6.40 return lol.
40p up Whoop!!!
Does this mean I owe you all £100,000? meh sue me ;)
Get myself a nice big bike transporter and a sercure, manned lockup in London for the Soho massive so we can recover bikes free of charge or store them over night :)
Stuff like that.
Ha! I win the lottery it's goodbye Blighty, hellooo sunny shores.
