Cats are intelligent and independent creatures of great beauty.

Dogs are pathetic groveling beasts who get overexcited far to easy. I do like dogs a bit but cats are much better.

So how are cats intelligent then?

Because, you would think that if cats are intelligent, they could ring for help if their owner has an accident, or get stuff for their owner if they are unable to move well, or see for their owner if they are blind, or find people / explosives / drugs, or attempt to protect their owner from anyone or anything that threatens them.

The thing is, they dont. Dogs do.
Is it cats amazingly accurate imitation of behaving like a complete @sshole? Cats intelligence seems to be them figuring out they should take dumps in kitty litter. And cat dumps are nasty...
Man. I hate cats.

Seriously, if you want something that looks pretty, (and cats do look pretty, I'll give them that), just get an aquarium. The fish will show you more affection.

I still fall for them though. Once in a while one will saunter over, and I will be all, hello kitty, and they purr, and I stroke them, and.... then they decide they are finished. So... let me see... what will Mr Kitty do? Walk away? Not a chance. Scratch ??? AWESOME! :P SWIIIPE

And you are just thinking... you total backstard, you are purring, why have i three big gouges missing out of my hand?

Well considering I have 3 Cats and a dog AND an aquarium ( I won't mention the Rabbit, Guinea Pig AND Hamster! ) I would honestly say I prefer CATS out of all of them.

It is true Dogs are smelly, lazy creatures who are dumb enough to stick with you even if they get beaten and kicked but How loyal are they?!?! Exactly. You can't beat a dog for loyalty and Who's going to protect you if you're attacked?? A cat certainly won't!!

But cats do have their advantages too. You can go out and not have to worry too much about getting back like you do with a dog. They are certainly more affectionate than a dog. And, You certainly can't have your dog on your lap (unless it's a small one of course!) like you can a cat plus cats are much more fun to watch!

As for fish, they are easy to look after and will give you hours of pleasure just by watching them swim about looking at all the variety of colours fish have to offer.

OK, I'll change my plea and say BOTH!! :D

Dogs have owners, cats have staff.

I have a dog at the moment or to be more accurate my wife does but I seem to end up taking it for walks and I have to say I have had much more pleasure from it than any of the cats I have had over the years but...

That's the point, cats have the brainpower and do everything on their terms... they have an independence that can only be respected.

Spiders are the best. Obviously. ;)

Actualy i dont like spiders at all and kill almost every one i see in the house unless they are tiny money spider size things. Although if i catch a mozzie or the like i'll happily feed it to the nearest spiders web and watch my own little nature documentary for a few mins

They're both ace... Cats for their independance and intelligence, and dogs for their... eh... Complete lack of intelligence. When a full-grown cat deigns to pay you any attention, it's a compliment, but dogs'll roll over for anyone. But then, they're so much more affectionate and loyal,.

Kittens are the best though. Some day they'll genofix kittens so that they don't get any older, and I'll be at the Permanent Kitten Shop at 9am on the first day :)

Cats all the way. Dogs run out at m when i ride, dogs leave steaming great pils of poo where as cats bury theirs. Dogs slobber about. Dogs attack when they are ****ed off, cats just walk off.

kitty cats are better than dogs!

Don't like cats and dogs, much prefer sunshine

The majority of cats owners let their animals roam and foul other peoples property and think it is ok
for their animal to hunt and kill but if a dog attacks their cat and kills it the dog is at fault
I see very few cat owners keeping control of their animal and cleaning up after it where as dog people on the whole are much more responsible in this respect

Dogs get my vote every time, but both animals are only as good as there owners so perhaps the vote should be about owners

Then this

......., but dogs'll roll over for anyone. But then, they're so much more affectionate and loyal,.

Which is it then :)

Dogs win all the time. Cats are usually mostly owned by lazy, selfish people who don't want take on the responsibility(fairy enough) of caring for an animal that offers so much more. Due to the fact that they still want something furry like, they end up getting a cat. :P

What's all this about cats being intelligent anyway? Eat, roam about messing the place up and that's about it really. Granted you don't have to do much with them but intelligent? No, no never met a cat than had more sense than any dogs I've had the pleasure of owning.

Dogs can do all a cat can and then do the cat as well :? (just jesting on the last bit)

Oh... can someone please tell the two ladies that sometimes insist on walking their cats(when out with dogs) in the park that it's not big or clever

Cheers
Ben
