The tape deck thing costs around $100US. Makes no sense, but it's kind of cool. And it'd freak people out when you use it :)

Makes a lot of sense for me as most of my best music is on tape since it was mainly from pirate radio stations back in the day.
Good find Northy, if i get on for Crimbo i'll let you come round and play with it for a bit if you like :D

Well, makes no sense since you can just plug a tape deck into your soundcard, it works the same :) I've got a stack of tapes, vinyl and minidiscs (oh minidisc, how I hate you, I use you for a year then suddenly you're gone, like a thief in the night) to transfer once I get my CDs done. Or alternatively, I could try to be less of a compulsive geek.

But we all love your compulsive geekiness mate. its what makes you, you. Thats and your apparent willingness to bow down right away in front of our robot or alien overlords

I didnt realise that i culd just plug my tape deck into the sound card. Cos i's fik innit!

mmmh mini disc... I have 2 personal players and a deck...

Remember a lot of sound studio and radio stations still use them, as they are more durable then CD's plus easy to move about. Plus its alot of kit to replace if it works...
