I agree, the k5's look wicked with the black frame. I don't think it would cost too much to have the frame painted but if i'm honest i really cant be bothered to strip it all down.

Just wanna pass my test and get out on it now :)

Cheers mate. Yeah its a killer having the bike on the drive and not being able to ride it. (Although I sometimes run it around the block to make sure alls still workin well  )

Messed up twice on stupid things, first time I locked the back wheel on the estop and the second I failed to see a stop sign and treated the junction as if it was a normal give way  . Both instant fails, quite frustrating  but I've only got myself to blame.

Not gonna give up though, i'll pass one day :D

I was exercising my artistic skills earlier with the help of good old microsoft paint and I was thinkin of black wheels :?: I'd have to give the swingarm a good clean to set them off... http://upload4.postimage.org/1693094/untitled.jpg (http://upload4.postimage.org/1693094/photo_hosting.html)

It'd probably be easier to by a K5 by the way and spray the paintwork black to match...
Hope it goes well, and watch out when round the block :plod:

Good luck with the next test. Failed my DAS - much to my kids amusement on the U Turn. Didn't put my foot down once as I went over the curb, into the garden, through the living room etc. 8)

The road was so narrow when I pushed the school Kwack round it was on full lock.

Went out - bought a 125 Yamaha Virago and sailed through the standard. Got the SV with a restrictor ECU and I'm happy as Larry. Use the wee twin to commute the mile or so to work - and SV for weekends or where I have to go over 5 miles.

Cowering behind the fairing, cruising 90-100mph is (apparently ossifer) is fine.

Hang in there!

A man of taste :) I was the same for a while, running the Horrible Yam through the week and taking the SV out at the weekend. It's not W82 RSC by any chance? THere's not many left these days. Hope it's not that one for your sake, it was a bomb...

That's weird. There is a girl here at work who started on a Virago and then bought a black K4!

I predict that you will both be interested in either a CBR600RR or a ZX6R next. (she is)

i didn;t think locking the wheel was a fail- as long as it wasn't too severe. i did a few times practising in the wet and the instructor didn't care. With passing tests i hate to inform you that it really is luck. The examiners have such on and off days, i passed riding badly, and failed riding perfectly. just stick it out :D (and nice bike! you might get someone with black wheels wanting to swap)

To 'round it all off' either paint / anodise frame & wheels black or . . .

I didn't think the lock was too bad but the instructor said I left a 9ft strip of rubber on the road

I think you might be right about the luck thing though, third time lucky i'm hoping!

Good idea about the wheel swap, if anyone knows of anybody wanting to swap maybe they can put me in touch :?:

Nope - not dat Virago - dis one.
That's my son learning on it (Like father ... etc) He passed his CBT and Driving test whilst staying up here in Norwich with me. The latter after 4 attempts in Sussex. Transpired he was getting frantic before the car test. Did a mock in the morning, freaked out, took the Virago out (stall, drop gloves, helmet etc..) calmed down and passed the cage test in the afternoon.
There's a moral in there somewhere.
When I get back from travelling in about 5 months I'm gonna strip it down and try and figure why it won't do over 60 mph. Word is the fuel diaphragm and filter get manky. It also makes a racket at high revs (piston slap??) on the road.
You need two bikes to get down to the spares department whilst the other one is in bits!

I started on a Yam 125 as well. The SR. It was rubbish, it was 2 years old and already had 3 owners before me. Sold it to my training school when I passed.
