Hey People,

Sorry, I've been away a long lone time.

The time has come to get a new bike...I so miss my SV650s K5.

Looking to get a new one, is it worth waiting for the K7 are there any rumoured changes or shall I try and get a good deal on a K6?

Ah, glad to be back!

Mark

K7s were rumoured to have many new parts but seem to be colour changes only really...

The new SV is the 'Sport' version and has an extra 50bhp, usd forks, cracking rear shock, decent tyres as standard and a new oil pickup that means you can mono it all day long without fear of oil issues...

Now in relaity the new changes are sweet f*ck all as far as I've heard. You can get it in a rather spangly blue though.

The 'sport' is on sale til the new year. you get free insurance, seat cowl and lowers. I have no idea on the K7, but I've heard a few stories.

The 07 will have a twin plug head, no more horsepower but was done to clean up emissions. Maybe will have some advantage if tuning for more power, but the sure bet is that it will double your expense when replacing plugs for little or no gain. ABS will be offered for a large price premium, likely will use the same pads so IMO is not worth it. You could likely pick up some better four pot brake calipers for less money.
Twer it me, I would haggle for price on an 06, and run with it until Suzuki comes up with the real upgrade- I think (hope) we will see the big improvements in a year or so, as the bits off the 00-06 GSXRs become surplus and cost effective to put on the "budget bike" that fits my needs o-so-well. :D
