i have a standard pipe with a blueflame can on my curvy - if i changed the standard pipe to a racing one e.g. micron or m4, would i get any performance gains. thanks

Probably a bit more pull through the gears but not REALLY any amazing amount I imagine. To get the best benefits, get a race air fitler and dynojet stage 1 kit.

the prob only real gain would be in weight saving but not much in the way of bhp.

Save your money and do the cam swap, more HP PER £ spent

DJ stage 1 kit is a waste of money, just buy bigger main jets, everything else in a DJ kit the UK spec SV already has in its carbs

Pointy intake cams and your curvey intakes on the exhaust side  Not sure on fitting costs and i don't think a local mech (unless he has knowledge of the cam swap) would put the curvey intakes on the exhaust side

IIRC new pointy intakes cost around £150, thats cheaper then an exhaust system and better power gains

I'll go one better  and say don't do anything. If the bike is fueling Ok with the Blue flame can(which usually it should), just ride the darn thing.
It's the rider and not the an extra 5bhp(phantom or real ) that's going to make the difference

If you want to spend some money, address the bouncy bits if needed otherwise just ride it. JMO like
