Well 2006 was the year I became a biker.
passed my test in January, so there was learning before that.
Got a Bandit, sold it for a profit and got my SV. Which meant coming on here from the same day.
must of covered 12,000 miles on my bikes.
That's all I want to say about my year.

A good year or a bad year eh? Hmmm.

Well, considering my situation and the things that should really have made it one of the worst years of life...

... I have to say on balance that it has , as a whole, been one of the best years - part of which is as a direct result of the bad stuff. :?

Hey ho - roll on 2007 and more of the same.

Not going to list the downers, been a few this year. Too easy to get fed up.

Good things:

Returned to middleweight motorcycling after 16 years (8 years off bikes) :D
Bought the Red One in March (AKA SV650S K5, now adopted by Kamakazy)
Joined this place :D
Got to know some really decent peeps on this site :D
Went on plenty of rideouts with the above :D
1000 sheep road (thanks VB)
The AR :D
12K two wheeled miles :D
Got (another) bike of my dreams GSXR1000 K6 :D
New job, away from the techy stuff :)
Got plenty of photography bookings :)
Got some photos published :)

Oddly looking at the above, life must have been pretty dull before the bike.

If 2007 is as much an improvement as 2006 was over 2005, I'll be over the moon, bring it on 8)

Its been mixed, some very good things, some terrible things.

:) Got a decent car, 106, well compared to my old mini
:) Rebuilt bike to a good standard after coming off it last year
:) Mate got a SV1000 after riding my bike
:) AR06
:) General ride outs with mates, all good, bar one.
:) Got a pay rise
:) Didn't crash at all
:) Got my dream car which I've been after for a good year or so, CRX Vtec (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Saint_Matt/CRX/Rex.jpg)

:( Had to take bike off the road for a bit because I couldn't afford to re-insure it
:( Went through a difficult time with the missus, my fault (always is!) because I took stresses of no bike/money out on her.
:( After I finally got my bike through its MOT, first ride out I went on after 2 months of it being off the road, went up to the cat and fiddle. One of my best riding mates took a corner too quick and went into a stone wall on the armco. He died later in hospital during an operation to repair a collapsed lung. Rode home in tears that afternoon, and I never rode my bike again. My dad had to put it away in the garage because I couldn't face it. Worst day of my life.
:( Sold the bike, for a very low price.

2006 has been the best and worst year so far for me. Wouldn't want to go through it all again, the lows were much worse than the highs were good.

I'm not worried about the bad or negative stuff from this year. I think mostly things balance out, as I think they have for me. I just had a lot of lessons to learn this year and with that next year should be very interesting indeed. :D

Mine's been pretty undistinguished... Though the absense of any serious injuries makes it better than 2005 :) I've had a lot of fun this year, but there's not an awful lot I can point at and call an achievement. Well, it's possible I've done even less work than last year...

2006's just drifted by for me, it must be old age.

Well considering I sat at new years eve with a whiskey moaning that this year was going to be terrible, it's been ace.

 Made Redundant
 got lots of dosh for it
 Found the perfect job
 Get all the school holidays off to go biking and sailing
 My bloke has been ace and put up with all my moaning

Roll on 2007 - I'm sure it's going to be even better.
(unless I lost my boat down the River Avon this weekend, must check it tonight)

Happy Early New Year to everyone!!!
