Just bought "Who Made Who" and "AC/DC Live'92" on fleabay for the bargain price of £4.99 delivered.

Awesome. Simply awesome. 8)

As for the Bon or Brian thing, I really don't know. They both have their plus and minus points. I think Brian just edges it for me. 8)

Err, spose they're OK, better with Bon Scott but the new  geezer (now quite old) is alright too. Wonder if a certain Mr Angus Young has sorted that headache out yet

There is plenty better though, Alex Harvey, Ricky Medlocks Blackfoot , Nazareth per chance

Doc you never looked like a head banger (apart from on the bike)

I've really liked all AC/DC I've ever heard but never bought an album. Not being able to afford an entire back catalogue where's the best place to start? They don't have a 'Best of...' do they! :?:

My favourite is For Those About to Rock. I had that on a compilation at uni and used to set my stero to play that in the morning. Room mates weren't to keen but WTF!

Suggestions on albums anyone?

If you want a live album you can't get better than 'If You Want Blood, You've Got It...' otherwise I'd recommend 'Back in Black' or 'Let There Be Rock'.

I'm a massive massive fan of Angus & co. Never seen them live; Will be prepared to pay £500 a ticket AND sell a kidney to see them.

Dunno if this is against the rules, but here goes:

Have some bootleg albums if anyone is interested. PM me for more info.

If against board rules, then apologies

Not rubbish...and I do like them. But the lyrics to alot of the songs are slightly perversed (or maybe thats just me  )

I guess it all comes down to taste at the end of the day. Currently hooked on malmsteen...

Amnesia, you enjoy metal, no?

Lets turn this into a pantomime...

"They are rubbish"

"No they aren't"

"Yes they are"

"No they aren't"

"He's behind you!!!!!!"

Anyway,

I do like metal / rock / thrash / other dodgy genre here - just not all of it.

Time for more disagreement I think...

If I wanted to listen to an over-rated guitar player play three chords (the same in almost every song) I would go listen to Oasis. The amin diference between Angus Young and Mr Gallagher is that Angus generally does it on one leg and in shorts.

I like my music either more technical, or with more groove.

Music is a very emotive thing, and AC/DC just don't get my juices flowing the way Tyketto or Jeff Scott Soto do.

Alpinestarhero

Can't disagree with you amnesia. I like AC/DC, but i get more of a kick out of malmsteen or symphony X or something like that.

Now,

Oasis

ARE crap.

Every AC/DC song goes on for about 1/3 too long, I reckon. Apart from Thunder, which is only any good because of the fantastic intro. Back In Black lasts for weeks. Or maybe it's just a time dilation effect caused by advanced boredom, since after the first verse and chorus you've heard the entire song :) But then, once you've heard Back in Black and Thunder you've pretty much heard every AC/DC song.

If I wanted to listen to unimaginitive **** rock, I'd play some Thunder :) Englishman on Holiday to be specific, what a tune.

"Laying down in this Spanish bar, that last slammer hit me like a car
I've got the 6 a.m. Balearic blues, can't even focus on my own tattoos
I had a fight with this German guy, I saw him give my little girl the eye
While he was trying hard to be so cool, I hit him with a stool

Oh yes, alright, I'll be going all night
Gonna drink 'til they take me away, I'm an Englishman on holiday

Every year I get to do the same, I meet the boys and get on the plane
We like to sing and shout out "here we go"
'Cos they're the only words that we all know
We've got the loudest shirts you've ever seen
We're gonna take the beaches like a team
We've got so much duty free to drink, enough to float a ship

Oh yeah alright, I'll be going all night
So light the paper, get out of the way, I'm an Englishman on holiday

We never look for trouble at the start, but it always comes our way
We've got our pride and we just can't walk away

(Solo)

This morning I woke up inside a cell
They dragged me screaming out of my hotel
I don't remember what it was I did
But I've got this drummer banging in my head
I've got to get out 'fore I miss the plane, next summer I'll be back again
I'll be fighting for the Union Jack, if they let me back

Oh yes, alright, I'll be going all night
Gonna drink 'til they take me away, I'm an Englishman on holiday..."

About time this thread was resurrected :smt045

After extensive viewing of 'Plug Me In', I must say that Brian Johnson I am afraid is not a patch on Bon Scott. Something that wasn't so apparent to me before studying the hours of footage . I never did like the later more heavy rock stuff rather than heavy rock and roll earlier albums and now thats really driven home watching the early footage. Although the early footage is so exciting and vibrant that later stadium type performance footage just doesnt do it the same. Not the same without Bon Scott's crazy grinning at the audience. A flat cap doesn't replace that .

Total highlight of the DVD masterpiece is in '77 or so when the BBC TV audience have turned up to see the Amazing Alex Harvey Band, and get AC/DC. Hilarious, especially the Angus Young audience excursion and the woman leaning away when he goes near. 'Don't worry, Dear, Alex Harvey wouldn't do such a thing'

...well you have to see it really

I wish I'd saved the DVD set for extensive drink fuelled Christmas viewing.

They both were excellent, like two seperate bands :) 'frickin' love them :)
Never been a band that was a patch on them since

Which DVD set have you got?

Plug Me In.

Keeps me happy. Lots of interview footage, but separate, nice jukebox thing and random player. Two good DVDs and then a kind of mishmash one. The early years one blows you away.

Saw AC/DC at Donnington in the 90's ( monster of rock ), absolutely brilliant!
Still got some photo's of it somewhere.
Sleeping in Derby train station on the way back home, bottles of pee being thrown in the air, human pyramids and the occasional bonfire!
God, those were the days :-)
I have all the albums on MP3 ( 25 in total when you include re-mix and live ones ).
Now i'm feeling old :-(
