Just thought i'd add my photo to the forum as i'm now the very proud new owner of a blue SV650s - K6 http://upload4.postimage.org/1798827/PB220037.jpg (http://upload4.postimage.org/1798827/photo_hosting.html) :D
Looking good. :) Hamicad tail tidy and you're there!
Some might say you need a new can too but I prefer the stock one...

tail tidy from hamicad.co.uk and check out the exhaust section for opinions on cans, prices vary from £100 depending on what you choose? fuel cans get a good reports and are cheap.

Or tailtidy from EvoTech.... Meant to be very good.
Oh yes and another vote for a "Fuel" Can. See Exhaust section.
Cheers,
Garry
nice looking bike you have there.. of course I'm biased as it's blue ;)
Apart from the colour (According to votes the red ones are clearely the best by a significant margin (sample, a large community of 879,765,341 red ants living under my patio)), is a darn fine bike
I'd go (went with) the Evotech tail tidy, its ally so won't rot and light too, get some spacer washers for the indicators though (halfrauds).
Zorst is a no brainer, CCC Oval from the Carbon Can Co eb@y shop, price is very good and after the baffle is given a helping hand they sound the best too IMHO anyway.
Those chicken strips are ooooge  Roll on the better weather and all will be fine. As for tyres, I'd consider (went with) Avon Azaro AV45/46 as they work fantastic wet or dry as an alternative to the standard OEM dunlops, will turn in a tad faster though.... which is nice.
Nice one

Guys ( and gals ! ), thanks again for the advice. Picked the blue as i wanted the sports kit ( lower fairings and seat cowl ) and they weren't offering it in red ! Only blue or silver
Wasn't sure of the blue at first, but i think it looks a lot better in the daylight than it was in the showroom, seems like a different colour.
As a complete novice when it comes to changing anything on the bike, do most folk get a garage/dealer to change the end can or is it a fairly easy job to do yourself.
Space washers ? What are they and what do they do ?
Need to get used to riding in the wet 'cause waiting for a dry day in this part of Scotland is like waiting for my lottery numbers to come up !

nice ride
Re tailtidys - just fitted an evotech to my k6 - no problems but i recommend dowloading the instructions from the hamicad website - different tailtidy, but has pics so easier to follow than the evotechs intructions.
as plenty peeps have said, exhausts are up to your personal taste. i got myself a Fuel exhaust from ebay. good quality and sounds luvverly when the baffle falls out. i fitted it myself with limited mechanical knowledge - but you will have to CUT your OE can - sounds scary but once you deal with it it turns out good!
