What bike type aspirations do you have for 2007?

New bike? First trackday? IAM course/test? Getting your kneedown .. breaking the SV land speed record etc etc

Getting some serious miles under my belt on my SV. I'll also see if I can get on a trackday in the summer, and I'm looking to just learn as much as I can about machine control as I can.

Biking aside, I'm gonna explore classical music on guitar, and carry on working bloody hard to get good grades towards my overall degree.

So not alot then.

Want to do my first trackday, get my knee down (im close but not quite) and get out to a few more bike meets. :D

First trackday for me and hopefully will get myself a falco at some point.
The other stuff about staying on and not breaking things obviously applies too.

I fancy getting my knee down this summer. I've only done 1500 miles on the bike as I got it at the end of August and have been working away a lot since then so I could do with racking up some miles. A "Y" plate with 5500 miles on it is terrible!

Personally I aspire to be the 2007 Moto GP world champion … but lets face is that’s not going to happen for some pretty big reasons

So my actual aspirations are pretty basic … have trouble free and enjoyable biking year!! 8) Most importantly by the end of 2007 to still have my life and license!! :?

2007's hopes are for a relatively safe and succesful rookie season within the Bemsee thunderbikes.

Also i'll be looking to stay of the Road bike as much as possible as it screw's up my track riding.

Getting to know my way around the SV with the help of Mr Haynes.

Persuading more than 1 of my mates to get Cat A and a bike to go on ride outs.

Enjoy the summer weather on the bike without an unscheduled trip to A&E.

Be able to go faster than 10mph on anything other than a dead straight

1) Keeping it rubber side down
2) New boots - maybe Sidi as Dianese don't make sports boots in my size :( - Anyone know if they're any good?
Either:
3) Spit restored + racing tuned
3) Type II Camper replacing Spit
3) SV1000S replacing Spit and Sv650S - Probably most likely to happen
3) Duke 748 replacing Spit and Sv650S

Seems quite a few would like to do their first trackday, i'd probably say the same. Maybe we could organise a site day out?

I fancy getting plenty of miles on the bike and hoping to turn up to a few more meets. Maybe even use a bike as a form of transport on holiday...

It just does. My feelings from previous rides way very heavy on my mind when i ride a bike and i get very nervous on to road after spending so much time in the 'safe' environment of the track. When i then get back on the race bike after a ride on the road it takes time for the feelings of insecurity to go away.

I dont know why I do it tbh as i never used to feel llike this. this year though if i even wnet out for 10 mins on the road bike before a trackday i would just ride like a right wuss on the track as i was constantly aware of stuff that before wqould not have worried me.

To get my knee down - an on going aspiration. Just enough so I have some scrapes on my sliders thats all.

To not read about anymore accidents, crashes or anything unplesant happening to anymore org'ers.

A trackday would be nice, a trip to over to Europe on the bike would be better.

Knee down? well maybe if I can get round to it but not a big issue for me. I'll stay my usual steady well balanced easy going rider (slow)

Hopefully moving house will free up mucho-der-wonga so I'll have no more money worries and will be able to spend ridiculous amounts of time doing track days to see if I'll ever be any good to start racing.

My immediate thought was along the lines of:
Keeping the rubber bits on the tarmac and the other bits off it.
But other than that:
- Rebuild the CG & get her back on the road
- A few pleasure rideouts to make servicing the SV even more frequent :|

I want to do more touring on the bike. But I said that last year and the year before :) Visit some other tracks, and do more days at Knockhill... Probably do something else daft to the SV while I'm about it. I want to do CSS if circumstances allow too.

Other than that, more good rides, another crash-free year would be nice (falling off at Tebay doesn't count, it's not a crash if you're not moving!), and who knows, maybe Edinburgh IAM wil finally be able to get me an observed ride after 2 entire ****ing years

Chunkyftg – if that’s how it works for you, that’s how it works for you. I know a few people that gave up road riding when they started racing, some for that reason, some budgetary. To me the two are so different that I see little overlap .. and don’t find it hard to differentiate … a bit like when I drive my van or do minimoto, same theme, but its just different how you need to ride them. Lets face it, it is all down to the individual. I admire your dedication to the cause ;)

Beenz – I have always fancied a Europe trip too … wouldn’t it be cool if we could organise an .org Europe trip!? 8)

Krazykim – “6) Ride in daylight! 8)” wot you a vampire or summin and your dream is to be able to go out in daylight!!?? ;)

Baph – I suppose I should try and go to a .org rideout at some point too

As I've decided I won't be back on the bike again in the remainder of 2007, I thought I'd see how I did on my 2007 aspirations

get the SV how I want it to look. Yep, got the final mods done round about Easter, still annoyed I made some unplanned modifications to it during my last ride in October.
first trackday at brands. Nope, no trackdays
ride more miles than last year.
Yep, did a thousand(ish) more. I think that rideout to Cheddar gorge with PeteVtwin and Lissa helped to add on the miles.

2 out of 3 ain't bad

Well, mine were

Get license done
Get SV done
Make SV loud done, and about to be more so
Do not crash failed
Keep license ok so far

4/5 aint bad :p

Next year, a TLS

I might get back into trackdays, depends on a lot of things that. I don't really want another bike... And while I'd like to do the IAM, that was one of my new year's resolutions last year and the year before, and the edinburgh group are still no more competent so that's probably going to be a resolution next time as well. I'd quite like to not fall off at all next year, I had a good run at it this year...

And I want to ride in another country, Ireland at least, but maybe further. Fly and ride, or get on a ferry, who knows, but I let it slip this year and I regret it.

For me next year I would like;

On the road

Ride my bike in summer, I only got mine in Spetember! Do more miles done about 4500 this year across 2 bikes. Which is not to bad being laid for most of the summer last year.

Do a few long trips, Devon is a good starting point, get to europe may be.

Do the IAM couse and test. Add some bits to my bike, can ect...Devlop my riding and enjoying it, keeping the bike rubber side down! I love my SV so just really getting to know my bike more and what it can do!

On the Track,

Do a few track days...if all goes well. Get the ACU licence, get a race bike have fun with it and may be race depending on how the year goes! Would like to aim for the mini twins!

Work Wise,

Next year is make or break for me in my job, so I just want to be good at it, pass everything I have to and still enjoy going to work, its going good right now.

Diving,

Want to dive more, get my boyunacy sorted and get taking more photos diving is ace and relaxing too, so it would be good to get away from the UK!

Want to buy a place some where, which could be possiable as it seems my family are happy to help with buying a house, but won't put anything towards me racing or any of bikes i have or want to get right now......

hahh yeah not to end up in hopitial which would be great! Most of this depends on how much money I got but, by working hard I hope to earn a bit more and spend it all the summer!

I seem to be sticking to not drinking or drinking very little, which is ace I hope to carry that on as well. Really just enjoying myself!

Awh, that's sweet!...

...However, I'm waaaaay more shallow! For 2008 I'd like a Cagiva Raptor1000, not the V-Raptor just the plain one.

I got my wish for 2007. I rode my bike from Pompey to Loch Lomond and my other hubby HunkyFunkster (Alex) resprayed my bike for me. It's beeeooootifull now! I'd just like the engine casings powder-coated matt silver and the frame powder-coated matt gold on her now, and also to get rid of the horrid carbon fibre tea-tray. My ass is wide enough without the bloody bike mirroring and accentuating it!! Oh, and a new set of gold renthals... oh, and heated grips... :smt077

*dont get any points until AFTER 25th Aug. (had licence 2 yrs then)
*buy a new summer bike
*Get out more to meets etc

Who brought this up again?

Anyway, I have put on some good milage on the SV now, and understand my bike quite well now, enough to be able to say whats crap (brakes) and whats good (comfrot, ease of handling) and that the power just isnt enough.

Discovered topboxes and handlebar muffs are awesome!

Havnt explored classical music on guitar, infact I think I am playing guitar less now, which is a shame I guess. Uni is going well, and I have made some new freinds this year which is nice, I dont make freinds very easily.
