Ok peeps,

the missus has asked me what I want for X'mas......I do have a few options but not sure with what to go

Bike bits? Need a bellypan or a screen.....both around £80 each

Car bits? Tyres? Exhaust? FMIC?

Problem is she cannot afford any of the car bits, she could do the bike bits but being winter I can wait really and probably get them myself later on when I start riding a bit more again.

What else? Any ideas?

Cheers

Heated grips! I dont think they are too expensive, £40 max? M&P are doing some deals at the moment.

What about the 2006 MotoGP book? It has some excellent photography in it.

Any CD's you might like?

DVD's?

I'm getting a leatherman crunch.
Ridiculously expensive multitool, but I just worship the engineering design.

I've asked Santa for a new fangled shaver as well, getting fed up of giving Gillette a quid a go for razor blades.

I tried growing a beard but it stops growing when it gets to about half an inch long and I just look like a tramp

What ones work best - all i know it has to be rechargable - what the difference between foils and the one with round things on them. I sound like the blonde I really am (no offenc to blondes intended I dye mine dark)

Just in case any of you are looking to get me anything, here's my xmas list...

Ceri’s Xmas list 2006.

Tools
decent quality soldering iron and reel of silver solder
halfords professional 60-300nm torque wrench
halfords professional c-spanners

DVDs
League of Gentlemen Series 3

Games

Gamecube - Gamecube official controller (colour doesn’t really matter, but something other than purple would be ideal. If you can only get purple, that’s fine)
PSP - Moto GP
PSP - Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins
PSP - Vice City Stories (*not* Liberty City Stories)
ps2 - Super Bikes: Riding Challenge
xbox -The Warriors

play.com should be cheapest for these, with the possible exception of the gamecube controller.

Records/music
12" DJ Q-Bert Breaktionary volumes 2,3 or 4 (2 copies of the same volume(s), ideally!) not vol 1.
Should be available wherever you got vol. 1 last year :)

Following should be available on www.Boomkat.co.uk or other specialist online stores- not much chance of finding them in hmv/virgin etc.

All 12" (not CD)
KROMESTAR - Southside Dubstars Vol 10
TIMEBLIND - Ghostification
MONKEYSTEAK / PINCH - Lighthouse Dub (Pinch Mix)
SEARCH & DESTROY / SCARECROW - WAVESCAPE (VEX’D REMIX)
PINCH & P DUTTY - War Dub

7”
NRON & MIKED - Pull It Up!

CD
various artists – Trojan Records - Trojan Rockers Box Set

Other music stuff (www.HTFR.co.uk (hard to find records) should carry these reasonably cheaply- you won’t get them at boomkat):

1 x Shure M447 (turntable cartridge) - Styli only (no need for a cartridge).
CD – various artists - 100 Grime Instrumentals Vol. 2

Books
Countryman's Cooking by WMW Fowler published by Excellent Press

Misc
Gel padded Cycling shorts (don't ask!)

I think the Phillishave ones are best (round things) although I'm not entirely sure as I have always wet shaved.

I've asked for this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HQ7782-Philishave-Coolskin-Rotary/dp/B000A7NKUK/ref=pd_sbs_dscm_1/026-3117353-2230069%5Dthis%5B/url%5D), it gets good reviews and you can use it wet too

Some are totally waterproof, like that (my) one. Its also rubberised around the edges, so you can drop it.
The one I have has a special bike mounting kit also...

And, yeah, I bought my leatherman over here, not too expensive at all really in USD. So, it will be dirt cheap for you Sterling boys.

Phil is that GPS a route finder with streets (in the UK) or is it for fields and walking in the Jungle?

And us poor Sterling boys have to pay postage and duty

Ahh. Lads. I am sorry, I thought I posted up a reply to the questions. I must have imagined I did. Like the way I imagined I did all that coding yesterday by the looks of things today.

So, in reply to the above, and the PM:

You can buy the bike mounting kit for that on off the Magellin people, I bought mine as part of a kit, with an extra detailed maps thing and they threw in the mounting for me.

Now, the GPS does do streets and things, when you buy it, it has a map of the US in memory, with all the main roads. Like when you look at Manhattan you can see 4th st, and then the next one is 10, and you can see all the Ave streets.

Then you can save a more detailed bit of some area of interest, with all the tiny back roads, cinemas, churches, and everything on it.
You can buy more memory, and stick it in to increase the size of this area.
The "fine details" I got from a CD that also came in the kit. You just attach your computer and upload it.

Emm, it also does walking / cycling off road stuff. That's probably why the details CD is so detailed. Its is incredibly detailed in fact.
I havent played with it that much I have to say.

Lets see. A valid criticism might be that the coarse "pre loaded" map is a bit too coarse, and the fine one is too fine (meaning that the amount of memory you need to get a decent area in is high). I am not going to actually make that criticism till I have actually used it a bit but I would not be surprised to hear that.
It is very accurate though. I mean, it gives me a speed when I am walking across my bedroom. It tells me very very precisely where I am, and where I am going. And, its small, light, it has a nice orange light on it to use at night, and it takes 2 ordinary walkman batteries. Meaning you dont have to worry about messing about with plug in chargers when you are carrying it about.
