Dear Santa.......
Does anyone know if there is a version of a decent game that features faithfully the Nurburgring ( is that how you spell it? ). I'm going next year and need to learn the course if I have any chance of avoiding the coaches and turbo milk floats that scream around. I've got a laptop and a pc, but no xbox psp :( or whatever it is the kids have these days.....I really want a bike game with ace graphics [-o<

I had a race against Cloggsy round the Nurburgring the other day on T/trouphy on his ps2.
I lost but WOW.... really great game.
well done Cloggsy, even if you did cheat...

Do you reckon its going to help me learn the circuit? :riding:
All depends if the ps2 version is the same lay out as the real track.
I'd hate to say yes..but if you play it 24/7 you'll get a relatively good idea of the track.
You can't really juge your speed very well.
but why not.

I was thinking about waiting til the ps3 comes out & then buying a cheapo ps2 to learn the TT & 'ring courses/tracks - I;d like to do one or both next year. is this likely to be worth it or not?
I'd also like to be able to ride some more british circuits on a console - I have xbox1 with motogp at the moment, so I get Donington - any consoles & games withs oem more of these?

the games will show you where the track goes but it wont prepare you for the carussel or the way the ring rises and dips in places, a trip is ran on this forum to the ring, with a great ring guide who shows you where to go and keeps us out of trouble, check out touring section, you wont be disappointed riding the ring its awesome :D
I second Lurcher's comments (espescially having been on the trip with him in July).
I'd actually be wary of attempting to learn the track via game beforehand - there's no way it can prepare you for the fel of the thing, other traffic, that feckin Carrousel  .
It may even do you more harm than good my giving you preconcieved ideas - that could really screw up your ride round.
Better to take the track on fresh, clean slate so to speak, and learn the first bit from there. Then go play games as you will have the real thing as a frame of reference - rather than the other way round.
I was really nervous of doing it (long time dream n all that) and had absolutely no idea of what to expect... but going with peopel who had been before and having a professional guide take us round (who was awesome) meant I came of those first couple of laps on such a high as it seemed so much easier that I had expected.
OK, so I think it took a couple of hours for my stomache to catch back up with me.
There are people who have been every summer for years who say they still don't 'know' the track. :?

Indeed, the Carrousel is evil.
It will give you an idea of track but video games never get it exactly right.

Mmmmmmmm........food for thought :) It apparently has a few corners that close up quite badly, thought that at least I'd know where they were, stop me piling in too fast

If you want bikes round the Ring - Tourist Trophy for the PS2, if you want cars i have Gran Turismo 4 for the PS2. I haven't got an up to date version for cars but tourist trophy is the bike version of GT4 basically. But it is a lot better on tourist trophy
