View Full Version : Running temperature!
What should it be? Mine seems to fluctuate between 81 - 92 when it is warmed up. Is that about right?

I feel a macho competition coming on here......
Well last week and rode the wee beastie so hard it got to an operating temperature as hot as the surface of the sun and melted away underneath me :^o
Or maybe much the same as you, around 83-92 once warmed up and in current weather conditions (bearing in mind it's not quite finished being run in).
Andy
I wasn't riding it hard (I wouldn't know how to!) I was filtering at about 30mph on and off.
Seemed to fluctuate quite a bit!

I've generally tended to note (though not been really keeping an eye on it) that slowish speeds it runs hotter. Makes sense really, as as soon as you get any speed on the air flow will cool the engine more (superficially at least).

You want my bike you do.. runs at 64 C at motorway speeds.. and will go over 100C easily in slow moving traffic.. and fan will come on even in winter if stopped for too long.... and thats normal...

about 85 on the motorway, and 85-105 otherwise. Do curvys have a temp gauge?

Then dont stop for long
The temp should stay below the 100 or so mark or the fan will cut in and quickly calm life down to a reasonable < 93, well it did on mine anyway (when following VB  (joking mate))
Sounds the same numbers as on me Gixer.
