Koso RX1N GP Style Meter
Thought I would document this for future reference (haven't seen many posts about people fitting them.
Kit arrived today, £105 on ebay from a german seller. Slightly second hand box but everything was untouched. First impressions are that the unit is small. Dinky. Smaller than I expected but not necessarily a bad thing. Manual is in english and details all of the mounting techniques, the parts in the box and the fitting of parts fairly well if not a bit brief. About 6 pages of fitting info and about 24 regarding how to work the functions on the clocks themselves.... I have not decided yet whether I am going to mount it on the front brake disc or rear sprocket. Naturaly would appreciate any thoughts people have. ;)
This 1st post will be updated everytime I make 'progress'.

Okay onto the installation:
So far, so so...
Problems I've encountered are as follows:
Mounting
I always presumed I would have to make up a bracket to get the clocks in the position I wanted. However, the brackets they supply you with fit onto the two risers that clamp onto the bars. Not very well though...the bolts they supply are no way long enough to go through the mounting bracket, washer and then riser. Really quite pish infact, I'm going to have to get some longer bolts from B&Q just to be happy with this "temporary" mounting.
Speedo pick-up
They supply you with 6 small, very powerful magnets. These go into the allen key heads on the brake disc bolts. Fitting is flush and since I have 5 bolts on my sv's discs, I put in 5 magnets. Mounting the pick-up (the item CLOSEST to the bottom in the picture) isn't perfect. They supply you with two brackets, 1 x M6 and 1 X M8. However, the bracket isn't actually long enough! With the sensor fixed in the bracket, the magnets do not directly pass underneath it, which is rather disappointing. Can't have everything I guess - I might manage to get another made up somehow.
Wiring
Relatively easy to do but a bit messy - I went and butchered the front of my loom to get most of it done and still have a few wires kicking about that I have no idea what to do with! Don't think I'll bother fitting the temperature sensors for the coolant - there are 2 supplied, for reasons I don't know but hey ho, nice to have! Naturally, the fuel gauge won't work although there is a slight possibility of it flashing up when I need fuel since I hooked it up to the 1st reserve line. To make the job a tidy one, I will be buying new 2.8mm terminals and put in a new plug to make it relatively neat and tidy and of course, secure.
With the help of a chap on BCF, I managed to get the primary parts wired in so I could switch it on. Turn the ignition on and the blue lights shine out bright - Nice and tarty. The tacho wirrs round to 13k and then back down. The neutral and oil light shine up as expected and are quite easily visible - one of my fears was that they wouldn't be very bright.
Pictures are below. Afraid I won't be able to test it until the 28th maybe, once I have the correct oil seals for my engine. Then I will be able to see if it can detect anything from the magnets.
