the k3 has a higher back, so if its a full system it may need some tweaking, to fit, if its just the can then u may need a modified link pipe

Yep, different subframe, should be OK otherwise. Doubt you've got a standard subbie anyway?
I asked the question today in my local Suzuki dealership. They are under the impression that as long as you have the K3 injected model, the system should fit.

My dealer didn't really know the difference between the k3 and k4-k6 until i was given the wrong part. It is subtle... I mean it will prob connect fine, I'm just not sure if the exhaust would connect to the hanger without either getting a different hanger, or bending the pipe, but it might.

well if you buy a race can and state what model the link pipes are diff because of the rear sub frame.

ahh dearboy you're getting all confused!! I have 3 SV650's. one standard K3 road bike, one minitwin spec K3 and a fire breathing K5 SV700!!
I was after a standard can to go on my road bike as it's only used to pottering behind the g/f on her hornet and it was bought after being thrown down the road so now i have the time over winter i thought i'd get it looking nice again.
I think i might just suck it up and get myself a nice aftermarket legel one instead. I spie a nice blue flame one f/s in the f/s section

I sees. Well, I'm pretty sure the only problem is that the hanger won't meet the can. Not 100%, but within spitting distance. So that's easily got around...
