To the k****er in the large silver Daewoo on Port road yesterday: Congratulations, your selfish actions actually ended up delaying you a great deal more than me. Perhaps next time you'll be more considerate.
I was coming along the road filtering (about 8mph faster than traffic) and this clown moves out to prevent my overtake. I give a quick toot of the horn to ensure he really has seen me. No response, a flash and another toot. Still nothing. So, I decide not to antagonise him and wait till I can safely get past in case he is intentionally blocking me (which I suspect he is as there is no space for a car to overtake at this point) and will attempt something dangerous whilst I'm alongside. Of course this means having to wait and whilst I get pass, I miss my opportunity to get onto the roundabout alongside a lorry and instead have to wait for 30-45 seconds at the give way line due to the unbroken heavy flow traffic coming from the right. During this time, idiot-boy finds a space to overtake and arrives behind me. He clearly saw me/realised it was me trying to overtake as he starts beeping his horn and flashing his lights (although there's nowhere to go, so it's just a childish tantrum). Eventually, a gap appears in the traffic that a car could have gotten into and I manage it easily. Of course, by the time I've done it, he can't so he is sat at the give way line waiting and is still doing so when he disappears out of my mirrors as I ride off.
The great irony? Had he let me past, I would have gotten past in time so that I would have been able to get to the front of the lane and made my turning about 30 seconds before he got there and the gap I used would have been his, so his journey would have been quicker too. I do like it when I see bad drivers get their commupance, even when it as minor a victory as this.
