My K5 is 18 months old and has done 23,000 miles. From about 6 months old the paint started flaking from the top of the fork tubes, About a month ago i decided to see if the suzuki dealer would try for a claim for me (Not the dealer i bought the bike from i might add) We took some pictures of the top of the forks where it's flaking, didn't bother with the bottom as the stone chips are to be expected on a bike that's used this much and that wasn't an issue.
The dealer sent off to suzuki UK about a warranty claim, they came back and said they needed to see pictures of the rest of the bike due to it's high mileage. I presume they wanted to make sure it wasn't a bike that was abused or wasn't looked after which may have had an affect on the paint on the forks.
Got a phone call yesterday from the dealer saying Suzuki had given the go ahead for the work so they have ordered the parts, (fork tubes etc) and will give me a call when there in to sort a time out to do it.
I was a bit cheeky and asked if whilst they have the forks apart would they fit the new progressive springs that i have sat at home waiting to go in, they said sure no problem we're gonna have the forks apart anyway just bring them in when you come.
So result nice one suzuki and good work V&J superbikes for chasing up the claim for me. :D
