I think it will. The higher profile means that the wheel is slight larger in diameter and therefore larger in circumference. So the bike might travel farther for every revolution of the front wheel. And as the front wheel drives the speedo....

I doubt in reality it'll make a lot of difference, so don't worry.

You speedo becomes more accurate.

im sure it has affected it slightly. my sv, in 4th gear, does the same speed as rpm e.g. 4000 rmp for 40 mph. it used to do 105mph at the redline in 4th now it does a toutch over 100.

Ben's right, makes your speedo closer to accurate, and therefore also your odometer.

I have calculated it:

at this moment I have a 70 and it says 122,5 km/h on the speedo when the GPS says 120 => 2%

***calculations***

a 60 tire gives 4% more
125 on the speedo is in reality 120 km/h

next time I will go for a 65, a compromise between stability (70) and flexibility (60).

i thought that it makes the speedo more accurate but odometers were meant to be accurate in the first place?
