Is there something you do every year at Christmas to celebrate??

In our family it has to be Christmas dinner this evening and opening presents after - but the weird bit is we dance around the Christmas tree holding hands and singing songs before opening the presents. My wife is Danish and this is how they have always celebrated.

Merry Christmas!! :rendeer:

Our tradition is we always stay up having a drink on Christmas eve, and my mum lets me & Dad open one present each.

I swear though, as I've got older, my Dad has regressed and now behaves more like a kid than I ever did at Christmas, wanting to open all his presents on christmas eve & wanting to eat nothing but a chocolate orange or toblerone for breakfast on christmas day!

Only thing I tend to do is go for a ride, just another day to me but with empty roads :)

Well I like a couple of the traditional things they do over here in Espaņa.

1 is the eating of 12 grapes....one for each chime of the bells ringing in the New Year. The other is the gifting of red panties/lingerie to the lady in your life as a special good luck new year prezzie!

Call me Grumpy but I'm starting to hate everything about Christmas.
I like to watch kids having fun ok, but what's this about the old bitches at work pretending to be drunk just for the chance to kiss you and do all sorts of weird stuff mostly sexual? And the worse thing is that only the ugly ones are at it. Why do they always have circuses on the telly? I hate it! Why do my kids always put things on their christmas list that I'd have to work a whole year for... "Dear Santa, I wish i have a mobile phone (motorola something), a mini moto, playstation 3 with games, a bigger house so that all my friends can come sleep over...", and this from my youngest, Samuel who's only 12. Shouldn't that be my list? Well I just wrote, "Dear santa I wish you exist". Why does my wife always make me take us all to get a picture with santa? Why does Christmas Sunday mass have to start at 10.30 and end up at 12.15? And why don't they ever have enough chairs at church and I always end up offering my seat to an old lady who is so sweet that I'd look a complete ******* if I don't?

the only unusual thing I can think of is our family had a Boxing day tradition of going to the races and taking a picnic brunch; bearing in mind our NZ christmas is lovely and warm!! Over here, I try and hide for 2 days from the crowds and just enjoy mooching around the house (no change there then!).

For us lot, our tradition is to go to the boxing day hunt meet, go and play with the hounds and then follow the hunt round in the landie. :D
Best bit is seeing the little tiny tots perched on top of a fat pony, tinsel everywhere and a puffed out mum/dad being dragged round by said pony and child.
