OK I've spent the small fortune, received the normal token gifts, eaten to much sugar, watched white Christmas & Gunfighter at OK coral.
So can I now go back to being grumpy because my Knee hurts and not because it's Christmas.
Cheers Mark.

Well said sir. 8)
In fact anything pickled is wrong to eat (apart from those small sweet little silverskin onions). Pickled stuff is meant to be floating in oversized jars on dusty shelves at the back of laboratories n stuff. It is also generally had more legs/heads/appendages than is natural, occasionally stirring in its jar and moving of its own accord.
Anything even remotely related to that has got to be wrong to eat. :?

Small world :lol:
I love picalili, especially with pork pie (which, as everyone knows, is the food of champions).

Exactly!
Cauliflower = Mingin
Cauliflower disguised with Picalili sauce = Mingin
Picalili without any crud of Cauliflower = acceptable
Pickled eggs - yum
Silverskin pickled onions - yum
Beetroot - yum

I with you Anna - though perhaps if we each :puker: :pukel: into a jar and pickle that they may not even be able to taste the difference.
And as for homegrown veg VB - my Dad used to grown beetroot for pickling - when Mum was boiling the vile stuff the whole house smelled like burning mud - when I was about 2 my Mud Pies smelled better believe me.

hehehe.. yup, my dad grown his own onions and beetroot and cabbage etc.. potatoes, carrots.. feck, could stock up tescos with the amount of veg he grew this year.. now hes retired hes got time to spend down the allotment.. we even get tomatoes from the green house as well... which are rather nice.. but back to topic..
yup, you are right when betroot is being boiled it does stink of mud!!! dont spill any of that juice anywhere either.. it wont come off easily either! :lol:
not a big fan of beetroot myself, though I will eat almost anything... I will only eat beetroot on the odd occasion... more a pickled red cabbage perosn myself, but that was my grandads department, and he died 10 years ago.. so not had red cabbage much at all since...
